@@itsjustahmed8927 The powerband is why. They really like screaming in high rpms but down low where you need to be for turns and instant acceleration they just fall flat on their faces.

Cool video bro. Brings back memories for me… in early 2000s I started taking my banshee to the track, entered a few MX races like this and it didn’t take long for me to upgrade to a YFZ. I can see it in the video, the Banshee when pushed hard on a track with jumps is just a touch too unpredictable for me. I give you credit for taking her to the track my man! If I didn’t race I wouldn’t have sold my banshee. It was more fun to ride almost everywhere else. Glad to see, I’m building another banshee now and while it won’t race, I might find an open practice somewhere and dabble

Thanks!! It was definitely the most fun race I've raced!! Shee was a handful on the track. I think i could have been a lot smoother on a 450 but im not so sure it would have been as fun lol unfortunately i had to let it go a year ago. Im thinkin about trying a trx250r build next

Thats awesome dude! Shee had a hard time running down the 450 lol but thats cool. 450 puts the power to the ground constantly. Each time u gotta let off the 2 stroke the 450 pulls off another tenth. Sweet vid man!! I want to build a shee for mx

Better rider than I am! Nice job 👏 that was impressive. I have 2006 i bought new. Completely setup for MX. 25k into it. But I'm getting old and don't ride tracks anymore. Sending out all 3 elka shocks for revalve and new springs. Set the bike up for just trail stuff.

Thanks!! This thing is a blast! Crazy how much money we can put into these machines and keep a smile lol mine is a 2000 I bought in rough shape for 1500. I actually set mine up for trails and hill climbs from the beginning but ended up loving it on the track. Now I need a track set up

@@32to1 yeah parts keep getting more and more expensive. It's crazy. I'm just glad I built it back when I bought it new. Freshen up the motor now. Be done in couple weeks. You sure can ride! @32to1 started a new channel. There are only 4 videos so far. My original 2006 she is powdercoated. This is more of a XC build but I'm thinking this will be the track bike as well. Minus one swingarm and new long travel AARMS

I’ve never had the opportunity to take my banshee on a track yet, my banshee is 80% ready for track day. What are some of the main mods you have done to make your shee track ready?

Thanks man.. Good suspension is key. The Elka stage 3 shocks on lone star a arms with the dominator axle was the best money i ever spent on any bike. Motor is stock

A lot lol elka stage 3 shocks on lone star A arms with dominator axle and +2 swingarm. Oversized rad and billet impeller. prm bumpers with light bars and full skids. I did have a 4 mil 421cc cub setup with 35mm carbs and 21mm domes cool head (thing was nasty) but it only lasted 20 hours so i put it back to stock... For now

It seems to have a lot of power. I had one +2+1 Duncan A-arms and a -1 swing arm that I rode MX on. I loved it but it never handled like a 250R.

@@32to1 he got a used banshee and then in the winter he took the whole thing apart and built it again with all new parts and frame, and we have our own track at our house

You could try some different pipes. You should be ripping out of those corners much harder than the 450s. Off a dig they should get you but shouldn't be anything to reel them in.

I really need to get a track set up for it. Got 22" bear claws and slp exhaust for the trails lol. This was only my 3rd time ridding a quad on a track

@@32to1 toomey T5's are the pipes i run they are really good in trails and even better at racing. And i used to run 22" holeshots. It just seemed like you were high in the rpms and barely moving compared to the 450s

Have yu ever have issues shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear when wide open? A lot of times it would not shift. Probably because i rarely use the clutch because my left index finger is fused on a 90° but even using the clutch it did not want to shift at WOT

@@32to1 no ive never had a problem power shifting but if i power shift i left off the throttle and shift then get back into it the only time i hold it wide open mid shift is then i use the clutch

@@32to1 421 Serval should be reliable, maybe something was wrong?? For MX, i would use it with just a clean porting and pwk 28mm.

@@claudeperron780 yeah pretty sure i was sold Chinese carbs that looked legit. I was unaware of the serial number missing meant fake. It was nasty for a limited time until the crank bearing went and trashed everything. Might try that port and 28s because it feels way under powered now. Also need to do some shift mods because you can probly tell in the vid that it didnt want to shift to 3rd quite a bit

You can tell the banshee is just too much for a track it literally just wants to kill someone in a straight line. Maybe if you did a hybrid trx 450 or yfz450 with the banshee motor it would handle on a lot better for the track

Agreed especially when its set up for the woods. My yz450f is 100 times easier to go fast on the track. But nowhere near as cool 😎 😆
