BYK is a local initiative of forest guard volunteers, organized within the Indigenous Peoples communities of Mt. Kalatungan. They protect, conserve, and manage biodiversity and forest landscapes within their Ancestral Domains.

Since 2017, we have been working together to protect and conserve the forests and forest biodiversity, and restore the ecosystem services of Mt. Kalatungan through the Enhancement of Community Capacity for Sustainable Ecological Protection and Economic Development Phase Two Project (EcoSEED-2 Project). Since its implementation, we have contributed to the conservation of forests in the natural park, and increased capacities and economic opportunities for the upland indigenous communities in Mt. Kalatungan.
