This is beautiful beyond words! I love the motto “never too old for art.” Thank you for also explaining the dances, the provinces/tribe they represent and symbolism behind it. I would love to experience this in person what’s the location?

i-ngoma is the generic name for every membraphone, in the Bantu language. There a names for some, but you must understand that we have 73 different languages and ethnic groups in our country. We have many many of different drums, some of which have names, and others that a generically called ngoma, or milupa (in the Lozi language0. What you are seeing is literally nothing, as far as the variety is concerned. I am a Tonga from the South of the country for example. There we have a dance-performance that was not included here, in which we have 7 very specific drums which are unique in the whole world in their shape, size and sound. One is small and kid can carry it. The other 2 or 3 are so big that they need several grown men to hold them up while they are played. In the West where I was born, we drums that triangular from one side and trapezoidal from another aspect. We also have a set of drums that are more than 200 years; these are so big that the diameter is almost 2 meters; a war was fought so that they could be stolen by one tribe from another. We have friction drums etc etc etc... We have drums in the east that have slits cut in the side, whose pitch can be altered etc etc...Remember, we Africans are the originators of drums- we have more of them than the rest of the world put together x10. I said that there are 75 tribes in my country? Next door in Congo, they have almost 400, so you can imagine how much variety there is. In Nigeria, they have more than 200 etc etc...

@@mambelelembambe4255 If you need me to expound further on what I said then I can. Although I don’t understand why so many people can’t see the cultural connections of Afrakhaan people and the Native Amerakhaans? When it’s so plan to hear and see these indigenous people are culturally linked!!! That’s what I’m talking about!!! Our sound movements and dress and way of life are very very similar!!!!! It so apparent to see and hear!!!! Peace & blessings ✨🙏🏾✨

@@mambelelembambe4255 yes you are right I reached all the way back to my ancestor lineage and found this truth through the ancestors!!! So yes I reached and still am reaching and I be who I am!!! I Am who I Am!!! I am my ancestors!!! I reached back in the spirit of the Sankofa so yes you are right!!! So I guess you reach for nothing so you get nothing in return!!! The sky is not the limit for myself and reaching for the stars is not the ultimate reach!!! And just as you think you have reached and arrived there is still more to attain!!! I know who I Am I don’t need your validation because I got that for myself though my ancestors and my creator thank you very much!!! Peace
