There are Bantu speakers who are Nilotes ethnically, like some Luo Clans in Kenya, the Tutsis, and several Ugandan tribes who have lost their Nilotic languages, as well as other tribes. Conversely, there are Bantu clans of the Luhya in Kenya who have lost their Bantu language and now speak Dholuo

@@prophetofanu8933 the difference in cultural practices could be due to assimilation of other cultures around them. However, all ba-ntu languages are related and have similar words but the root word for "man" or "person" is the same across all bantu speakers with little variations in spelling...muntu, mtu, mmadu, wandu...but similar pronunciations.

In the history of Africans I learned from my childhood is that Ntu ( singular) the father of abantu ( peoples " plural " ) I am umntu PERSON living with abantu PEOPLE. I just wish people can remember what they were taught from their schools and from their families as the real history coming from those before us down to us current generation, so that you don't get lost in the mixed up with other people. I'm glad I learnt more and more of our Nguni people and how that breaks to clans and tribes. I'm from the south African tribes with their rich history and where they're from. And I'm from Nguni descendant, and in Xhosa nation . And I know where our people come from.

The water that thunders down the escapement truly thunders! The word Mosi may also mean first in Bantu number systems. So I trust that is where the confusion come from. @@Meikles888Yes, our correct name is Ngoni, traditionally meaning ‘Abantu abangoni’ = the Ngoni people. Reflecting the spiritual values of this Bantu branch. It’s actually like how ‘Mzilawegazi’ became ‘Mzilikazi’ because Europeans mispronounced it.
