But as far as this Tyagaraja Keertana is concerned, I feel the Keertana starts as BANTUREETHI KOLUVU IYYAVAYYA RAMA......, but sung as BANTUREETHI KOLU VIYYAVAYYA RAMA...... Even Legendary SPB sir had said in one of his PAADUTHA THEEYAGA Program called RAAGADEEPIKA where he corrected participant on this song pallavi lyric. The Program happened in Mysore Sri Datta Swamiji Ashram. He himself had sung this song in a Movie TYAGAYYA. I hope you can watch and make a note of it.

@@gokul6582 probably you don't know Telugu. That's why you are saying so. Telugu has it's own words. Of course, there will be words similar in other languages. I know Tamil, it's there for Tamil also. Many words are borrowed from Telugu, Sanskrit etc. Actual Tamil language does not have the alphabet like Ha, Ksha etc. Are you not using those now? Example, words like Ursavam, Amavasai etc (Uthsavam, Amavaasya) are borrowed from Telugu and simplified to suit to your diction.

You guys are doing wonderful work.. appreciate it...this girl is another Gandharvini on earth, blessed one to be born in such family and with such a talent.....after all the legend Unni Krishnan's daughter....Small correction though, I see several singers have rendered this amazing Keerthana with a small mistake in sahityam...It's NOT KOLU, it's KOLUVU...even the legend Sri Jesudas paid great attention while reciting this and had this sung as Koluvu.... Bantu reethi Koluvu means - Bantu is "assistant" kind of....like Lord Hanuman is referred to as Rama Bantu in telugu....reethi means "like"..Koluvu means "reside" strictly speaking...however here Saint Thyagayya says - "O Rama, keep me near you always like a Bantu, like someone who serves you all the time, like Hanuman"....Kolu doesn't have any meaning in Telugu...all respects for the efforts though...🙏🙏

There is a fine point that you are missing here. Koluvu is correct as a standalone. But in that case the next word should be iyyavayya, not viyavayya. In the lyrics there is a sandhi ( joining) of the 2 words and the actual word there is koluviyyavayya. Check the written lyrics in Telugu or a good english transcription. So there are 2 options here. Either you sing koluvu iyyavayya or you sing kolu...viyyavayya. By taking a hard stop after koluvu and then saying viyavayya, even the greats are committing a grammatical error. Uttara is actually the only singer I have seen on youtube who handles this line correctly. If you pay close attention, you will see that she takes a break (correctly) between rithi and kolu and then glides to viyyavayya without a break. That glide between the two parts of the word is a necessity because of the measure of the kriti.
