Some of the Bantustans had a hymn similar to Nkosi Sikelel Afrika, they just changed the language. Others seem to have no desire to have their own identity.

The ones that didn't have their own identity had Die Stem as anthem. Except Rehoboth. I can't tell for them for sure.

I think the idea of this part of Apartheid was not bad. The idea that every people had their own nation with their own flag and Anthem was actually good. But sadly, the plan failed because these bantustans were so small they couldn't be independent in their own. They would rely on South Africa. Except Transkei maybe. I'm afraid South Africa is on the road to another bantustans. But this will be the Volkstaat for Afrikaners and Anglo-Africa for the Anglo-Africans.

@@dutchskyrimgamer.youtube2748 dependent on South Africa what about Lesotho? Landlock nations could still survive. However you were also partly correct because the problem of some Bantustans is their none contiguous territories.

@@papapeethehunksMandela and his party destroyed everything that could have been negotiated to increase the area of the bantustans and make them connected. It is impossible for this state to succeed. The view of the whites was correct. Independent states based on culture must be established

Bantustans were a great idea only they were too small to really be independent. Let's hope someone can fix South Africa 🇿🇦

the point was to deprive blacks even further of civil rights so they could have even cheaper free labour by designating them as "foreign workers"

@@Griff00The blacks were going to have independent states based on their own culture that could have been negotiated to make it better and bigger, but Mandela spoiled it

@@user-hh8yc9eb2k Yeah it would have been nice if North west province was still under Tswana control, but with Bophuthatswana just bigger, Venda the entire north of Limpopo, Ciskei and Transkei split the entirety of east Cape, and Zulus take KwaZulu-Natal but I think it would work better if it was a federation of republics like Russia.

@@nnasara3796 In Russia, there is a dominant nationality (the Russians) at a rate of more than 82% of the total Russian people, and they are present in all regions at a rate of no less than 20%, which cannot be compared to a country in which there is no dominant nationality.
