"How can anyone think Cody is in the right?" I can give a few good reasons: - May's such a workaholic that she fails to be present in their child's life, which is the exact point Cody brought up at the beginning of the game, and May continuously brushing him off every time he tries to talk about their problems *is why the plot even happens.* There's no mention of May even considering taking time off to spend time with her family, either, meaning that she'd rather be at work than home even if she could be. - Cody working would just make that problem worse, since then *both* parents would be neglecting their daughter instead of just one. - The only argument against Cody that May has is that he's a stay-at-home dad. Chances are, he does the lion's share of housework on top of looking after their daughter, which is evidently a thankless job since she keeps implying that she thinks he's lazy and unskilled.

All excellent points. Their lack of communication led to terrible assumptions about eachother, which then led to the divorce.

I agree with most of that, although I will say that Cody doesn't seem to appreciate how hard May works either. I'm sure she would want more time with their daughter, but bills do need to be paid. Plus, her working so hard is the reason Cody is able to be a stay-at-home dad. If Cody went to work, that could give May that time she needs to be at home without worrying about work.

It'd be easier if they also lived in a more affordable house, then they wouldn't need to work so much to pay it off. Cody could work night shift or from home, but if they really need it someone could babysit during the summer (not like anyone needs to watch during most of the school year.)

Your points ignore May's genuine feelings and side and just paints her as the bad guy when she's not, she has genuinely good points too.

@@Maria-he1db Ignoring the insinuation that I'm somehow lying for pointing out canonical character flaws that are a major plot point in the game, you missed the point I was trying to make, which wasn't "Cody is right and May is wrong, here's why May is a horrible person that nobody should like or support", but "here are some reasons why someone might sympathize more with Cody than May". Including May's good points or Cody's flaws would be redundant, since they're already being acknowledged.

I think the theme of the "get the letter pages" levels is more so about getting the parents to communicate how they feel, as it seems most of their attempts ended in arguements before, so seeing them stop to actually talk about their issues is in my opinion a big step in the right direction :D
