The tri band UV-21R sounds like a real great radio, But the person that did the format of the video could have slowed down to a less learned person, but I caught some of it. Thanks

From Amazon's product page regarding the UV 21R battery capacity: Looking for specific info? Q: What is the mAh rating of this battery? The BAOFENG UV-21R battery has a high capacity of 2600 Milliamp Hours, allowing for extended usage and standby time of 5-7 days. The 1800 mA you read off from the specification sheet is the instantaneous current draw during transmission. A quarter is the best "screwdriver" to remove the battery screw. Or, you could just use the one on your Swiss pocket knife.
@NukaVaultReadiness6 ай бұрын
Appreciate your input! My apologies if I confused the draw amperage with the battery size. At first I used a quarter I think to open it up, yes my multitool worked just as well.

I have a new Kenwood TH-D75, which is tri-band also but also does GPS, DSTAR and APRS. And probably about 5 times higher quality. It's the best Ham HT I've ever owned yet. So I don't need this radio. But I'd buy this if I didn't already have the Kenwood.

Sounds like a solid radio you have there!

I downloaded my uv5r to chirp and called it p a uv17r and downloaded it to the radio that way. It was 2 months ago, and I have not searched to see if it has been upgraded yet. But i heard Baufeng has programming for it

Is an excellent radio and it also does 220 I bought a tri-band antenna for it doesn't say 2:20 this is 2 m and 440 but guess what I programmed it and it works on 220 also I talk on the 220 repeater with it great radio easy to program body keypad I have the same one and I bought one in Orange 🧡🧡🧡

Odd. In my manual is states Tx/Rx on 2M, 1.25M, and 70cm. I don't have a 1.25M repeater near me, so I will need to do some traveling to try it out.
@Steve-k9y9 ай бұрын
Amazon list's it as a 2 band model....
@NukaVaultReadiness9 ай бұрын
Indeed it does, but the manual with it does say 1.25M Tx/Rx. Need to get a Tri-band antenna and try it out!

I haven't played around with it very much yet, but 2M and 70cm seem to come in well (depending on repeater and location of course). Still have yet to play around on 1.25M. Hope this better clarifies the answer. Sorry it isn't a very scientific answer.

He’s asking if it has spurious emissions on harmonic frequencies. Is it clean enough to pass fcc requirements.

I greatly appreciate the clarity and apologies on my neanderthal mind that didn't catch that the first time. While I wasn't able to find any results directly applying to the UV-21R, I did come across this forum post from last year regarding UV-5Rs and their respected generations. Hope this helps all! forums.radioreference.com/threads/baofeng-spectral-purity-imd-testing.461065/

It does look like a further iteration of the UV-5R. Not damp or dust proof, so agree that it's not the greatest for outdoor use. I haven't stress tested the battery, but plan to soon.
