Every once in a while Rob starts to say something I'm really interested in, and Caleb interrupts him.

Thanks for not clearing anything up here. You guys stammered through this without answering what is the difference between a Mikva and a baptism.

Thanks for the comment Steve. This clip is from a much larger discussion (as is stated at the beginning of the video in the banner at the bottom of the screen). You might find the full discussion helpful.

They can't answer that because this Messy antics teaching is all BS. So they make it up along the way to have a Christo-centric perspective. If you want the truth, learn it from Jewish teachers. Haven't you seen yet, that anything factual about the NT is not new but found in TANAKH, with the study from thousands of years, from commentary by our sages and anything NEW in the NT is not true?

What would a Christian from a non-Bible-based-church need to learn prior to a Mikva?
@dianeallen58035 жыл бұрын
I'm confused. I thought tvilah was the ritual, which was performed in a mikvah. But this video seemed to use mikvah as a noun (the basin holding the water and as a verb (the ritual of baptizing or cleansing).

Some say we can baptize ourselves in a shower or bathtub If we have no one to do it for us or if the rivers or lakes are frozen. Could this be true?
@Hodge8634 жыл бұрын
Mobile Hobo you have to have someone of faith help you in the baptized process even Jesus had some one baptize him at the beginning of his ministry. Keep seeking god my friend

It is a different experience fully submerging one self in a body of water vs a shower. Remember what it sounds like to have your ears under water. Most rivers and lakes don't completely freeze to the bottom, but there are Mikvah baths in most large cities. Don't need someone to hold your head under water for a Mikvah, in fact it is only a Christian tradition to have someone hold your head underwater to get a baptism, where as Jewish laws were made for people to practice at home. Mikvah baths (in building) usually do have someone in the room when you submerge for safety reasons but they do not interact with you unless you actually have troubles in the mikvah. It is always safer to have someone else go with you when you are entering a body of water, whether for spiritual reasons or recreational reasons.

Mikveh is always living water. Baptism isn’t in present day. When John the Baptist first started performing baptisms, he used a Mikveh or a river or sea. Christians are not allowed to utilize Mikveh unless they are converting to Judaism
@ketermalkut76534 жыл бұрын
FAKE!!! Under Judaism a person can do the mikvah bath in place of flowing water - a river, sea etc. However that may not always be possible. So they have built Mikvahs. And, yes, there could be controls if it is a built Mikvah but that is not the ONLY way to do the MIKVAH.

John the "Baptist" was NOT a Christian, but a son of a Levite high priest. What John did was doing the mikvah which is well known to Jews from all the scriptures in the Torah. Since Jesus is LORD of the Sabbath, does that mean that Jesus is also LORD of the Torah, including the concept of mikvahs? Baptism means different things to both Western and Eastern churches. And sprinkling is extra-biblical, does not describe what happens to the believer, according to Romans 6:4. Mikvah is immersion in running water aka living water as described by the Messiah Yeshua.

I what name do you MIKVEH?
@MessiahMatters4 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the video? You don't mikveh in anyone's name. You would baptize in someone's or something's name. We baptize in the name of Yeshua, that is Jesus the Christ.
