There is a level of pay that locals start to be willing to work at. There is a level of pay you can afford without increasing the end pricing. And, there is a level of end pricing where your sales volume goes down enough so that you don't need an extra pair of hands anymore. And there is a level of end pricing where others take all your business. You have to count what you can charge and what you can pay. Sometimes, unfortunately, there is not a level of end pricing that would allow hiring locals without going out of business. And sometimes, the most optimal solution would be to leave the area of business you are in altogether. Not sure what level they are at at the moment on this video.

Chefs, bar managers etc are skilled jobs underpaying them is a false economy. Having said that the monopoly structure of our hospitality industry with a few large companies, Enterprise, Marstons etc who tie these establishments to there supply chain and charge a premium for there products are one of the main reasons many bars and pubs struggle.

My wife has 2 masters degrees, taught herself English, was working in a school, but always struggled to get recognition for her efforts and to be properly acknowledged as such. We moved back to Poland, no problems, pay in relative terms is much more here, and the social programs for youth are more plentiful. So no chance of returning to UK for us. Now he could say what he was told have proven not to be true and so what he at the time believed would be of benefit to his business has since been proven not to be true, but it's nonsensical to say he voted as a businessman for something that by his own report is damaging his business. @@iainhunneybell he voted as a businessman based on information that was given to him as fact, the media failed us all because fact checking during the campaign was almost non-existent. Social media was heavily abused by directly targeting disaffected voters as part of a massive data protection breach, Leave were able to target exactly the people they needed to carry the vote. As for this businessman, he made a bad choice based on dodgy information, the same as I did. I have no problem admitting I made a mistake and I am damn sorry for it, the truth is I was one of those people who could see both sides of the legitimate argument but was swayed by the social media campaigns as were many people around me. This is why Farage and Johnson were terrified of a second referendum, they would have lost by a massive margin. Anyway, it's gone, nothing I can do to change the outcome, only say sorry and campaign to try put things right as impossible as that may currently seem. Johnson's day is coming and hopefully that starts a period of reflection for this country.
