I was there and was able to make it in. That was the biggest line I had ever seen. I was only in the middle and we were blocks away from the actual building. If his speech wasn't inspiring (which it definately was), seeing all those people waiting in line said it all.

I seriously got chills watching this live last night. Especially at the point at which he starts raising his hand and voice and tries talking over the crowd's thunderous applause. It was unreal. He won the Presidency with this speech in my opinion.

I had the choice of going to either New York or Chicago to get my Master's. I chose Chicago. Before I'd even arrived, I was a staunch Obama supporter. It's been absolutely wonderful to be in the Windy City this year, during this primary season, the hometown of Mr. Barack Obama. He is the honest, compassionate, intelligent leader this country not only NEEDS...it DESERVES! Goodbye, Bush...don't let the door hit you on the way out. Hello President Obama and a brighter day.

I so agree with you! It's about darn time an African person get a chance to prove himself! He'll do just fine! I didn't think that I would live long enough to see this happening! I hope this will show black kids everywhere that they are not inferior, they should look beyond their color! Don't listen to people saying you're not good enough, you can achieve anything, you might have to work a little harder, but you'll sure get there!

Congrats to the US for making the right choice and nominating Barack. I am Canadian, and have no real skin in the game, but after watching Obama's speech last night I felt so proud and wish him all the best. It won't be easy but if he is elected I have great hopes for a real change in US policies on many issues and foresee a change in the world views of US and American's.

Barack Obama demonstrates the charisma, leadership, intellect, and substance to help motivate and empower all Americans, regardless of their chosen political party, to do what we are capable of doing. While I respect the other candidates, I am proud to have campaigned for Mr. Obama and elated that he is the Democratic nominee for President! Yes, we CAN!

On August 28, 2008 45 years to the day of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech Barack Obama will have the opportunity to make history again. To quote King...I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations...With faith we will be able to work together...to struggle together...I have a dream that children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. YES WE CAN!

I do not want to trash talk McCain, being a fellow American, but I think this country cannot hold on to the same policies that have proven to be arrogant and irresponsible. We do not need a politician who wants to carry out an angenda similar to what we have seen for the past 8 years. We need someone who can give us back the feeling of hope. We need someone fresh. We need someone new. We need someone who can help us remember what it feels like to live without fear. We need Obama.

"This was the moment, this was the time when we came together to remake this great nation, so that it may always reflect our very best selves and highest ideals." Wow, awesome. I always think it's important to remain impartial and skeptical towards politics. So I've thought some of the criticisms towards Obama were just. But above all else, he ignites the public to such a degree that I haven't seen in the past, which I think is important to turn the U.S. around. That's why I'm OBAMA all the way

Somehow I feel that America has changed. From now on, when I tell a child "You can be anything that you want to be..." I will never again feel that I am not telling the truth. Last night a check cleared. A check written in 1776 when the declaration of Independence was written. A check signed in 1862 when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. A dream fulfilled that was dreamt by a King in 1968 that we would be judged by the content of our character, not the color of our skin.

I remember thinking, he's my guy. And that he was well on his way to being President. I am happy to report that Hilary is conceding Friday. Let's hope she gets behind with all her talents. The world needs us to move on. I like a lot about him, but I really like the fact that he grew up watching Star Trek, and references it. Growing up in the predominantly white burbs, it pointed to a more perfect future for humanity. He's of my generation and that means something. He lacks the Boomer baggage.
