I think this speech and Bill Clinton's were the best of the democratic convention. Guys.. can you imagine marrying a girl and later running for office, and you wife being able to deliver a speech like this? Its phenomenal. Hard to believe, even. She hit a grand slam with this speech, earned my respect.

ah! I started crying! What an eloquent, honest, beautiful person. She hit home with me especially when she spoke about the two views of America and life here. Do we settle for things the way they are and not strive for better? Or can we, as Americans, unite and go that extra mile towards a better, more fair, inspiring life in our country? I've often thought we settle for less because our leaders have doubted that we CAN be more than we are. Obama 2008

"you treat people with dignity and respect even if you dont know them... even if you dont agree with them." wow, very good words. i feel as if most americans dont follow this and they should learn from her, if not from me. because i preach this in my city as well, and i get called names.

I think Biden hit it right on the money when he said "John McCain served our country and we owe him for that. But a good soldier doesn't always make a good president." Love Michelle, and Obama definitely has my support.

Very moving speech. They seem to know what we need in this country. I like the idea to vote with the need of hope and dreams, not fear. =) Very nice Michelle, I'd be proud to have you as my first lady (and it'd be the first time ever that I felt that way). I could never imagine a speech like that coming from Cindy McCain. Thank you.

I'm a poet at a loss for words and that's almost impossible LOL! This speech is absolutely motivating and empowering. We NEED leaders with family values if we value OUR families. Michelle, you and your family are inspirations to us ALL. Regardless of the turn-out of this election (which I'm POSITIVE it's in the bag), the Obama's ARE the leaders of MY America!

This speech was very awe-inspiring for me. I began to whelp up like many other people watching and had to really keep from crying. This speech hit home and touched on very important issues that many of us face today. I am inspired to stay strong and to not give up on my hopes, dreams, and desires; and that with hard work and dedication, all is possible. I am also inspired to be the best mother, sister, daughter, and person that I can be. I know Barack Obama will be our next President!

I started crying too! My mother did the same thing for me every day, even though she was in persistent pain and couldn't work. Not only was Michelle's message inspiring for this election, it motivated many of us to do our best and make a difference every day. I am consistently humbled by the Obama attitude and it's an absolute honor to support them, even as I live in another country. I've always thought 'wife' speeches were trite, but she was fantastic.

There is a great video from CNN on KZbin of Barack watching Michelle giving the speech on TV. He looks genuinely moved and proud. Reading Barack's book Dreams from my Father, I get the impression that maybe he keeps his emotions to himself somethimes, but for anyone who sees that video, it is a pretty cool reminder of his humanity. Many more will warm to Obama when they have a chance to empathise with that side of his character if they are given the opportunity.

The greatest thing about the Obamas is their excellent positive attitude. Something that we rarely see in the current administration. We're supposed to be afraid of everything and watching our backs. Why not make friends and create mutual bonds with others? It's all about the message, and following through with it.

Beautiful. Im a long-winded person when inspired, but man, I'm speechless this time!... Well, now that I think a little bit, I guess I can say what renders that comment: Michelle's graceful oratory, the Obama girls' genuine love (its adorable to see them almost competing for a chance to say hello to their father), President Obama's witty appreciation for his wife, and the Democratic National Convention's ebbing passion in this historical journey. White House or BUST!

Michelle gave an outstanding speech. She shows the qualities of a first lady.. She definitely makes us women)proud. Michelle and I share the same birth year- that makes me even prouder for our age group. It is not the age, it it the level of maturity. You got it happening for your family. Congrats soon to be America's First Lady,we know you are Barack's first lady. Good luck to you. I am doing my part from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. So all you Vincies reading this do get on board.
