It's ridiculous how much armor the Urbie has... That thing is literally as tough as a heavy - actually even tougher because its hitboxes are so small. I should use it for scouting.

I run my K9 with almost the same loadout but with lbx5 and small lasers, 900 to 1100 damage a match is pretty typical. Urbies are the best

Its more than 2 tiers up and down - I'm pretty much forever stuck in tier 5 because I played this game very casually back when MWLL was much better than it and lost ALOT in trial mechs lol - and I've played in a game with Baradul once. It was unfortunately a horrible game and we got stomped quickly because of super disorganized team mates (except of course for Baradul). I hope to one day get into a decent match with him and see myself in a video running along side him.

A friend and I run our K-9s with RAC 2-5s. Either option works surprisingly well as we've both ended up with around 800 damage in a good game. You can only run two medium lasers though and no jump jets.

Interesting, I run Catapult k2 with dual RAC5 and 2-3 medium lasers and ams. Though there are problems with build such as longer face time. As dps support it rocks but once you got no assault to hide behind you kinda screwed.

That's the great thing about the Urbie, it's almost like a mini Atlas because of those armour quirks. Though obviously you're still not going to sit at the front all the time, but you'll annoy people enough so that when they look away, hopefully your team can get better shots are critical components. But you're still easily capable of doing a lot of damage if they ignore you too much. So win win either way.

Wow, I never noticed that Urbies had that much armor, that's pretty crazy! The tiny bit of structure they get is pretty funny in comparison. So the Urbie's abnormally high armor is supposed to be countered by their relatively low speed for their weight class right?

Charles Urban it's worth a go, I finally relented a few days ago. Good fun but the new player experience is horrible in terms of inventory/mech. The trial/free mechs are mostly worthless (either lack focus or don't have special components attached), there is no good intro guide for getting your first mech and the store lacks details like easy filters for hard point/build bias and specific hardpoint locations to help pick sensible mech for specific themes (peak, tight damage clusters, weapon height or missile burst sizes).

Hey Baradul, since you liked the LB-2X for the Urbanmech, maybe you would like it on something bigger. This is one of my favorite builds using a King Crab 000. mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=238&l=3b45453da2f1f12c1873ecfc08a439ed62b86e7e The idea behind it is to have a very mobile King Crab who is able to move around the battlefield and shut down the largest threat at any one time. Focus on Firepower and Armor for the skills and sit between close to medium range. At close range, you completely suppress a single mech until you kill it within a few seconds while the pilot struggles to figure out where all the damage is coming from. At medium range, you suppress the mech but go more for crits in open sections of armor. For example, at 300-400 meters, that means using the rotaries to strip Assaults of their leg armor. Then you let the LB-2X's work their magic for ammo detonations and kills in in very short order. The maneuverability allows you to play the mech as the situation best suits it. If you need to be in close, the quirks and skills let you do so. If the map demands distance, you aren't stuck looking for that perfect time to push. It is constant damage for the entire match. The lasers provide both increased point damage during a brawl as well as keeping the lights honest.
