Dual HAG40's is how I run this. The ghost heat is negligible (I just go alpha all the time yolo, it's surprisingly cool especially since last patch), the cooldown and heat between the 30's and 40's are quite small compared to the difference between the 20's and 30's (you get a lot more bang per ton with the 40's), and the increased firepower is absolutely noticeable. A bit more face time, but when you are able to unleash your whole payload it is brutal. I run it with a slower engine obviously (still runs at around 64kph), and I have enough ammo to do 2k+ damage in a game (have done 1800+ a couple times with it). I don't suggest coupling this with large lasers since you need to lead your shots with the HAGs when targets are moving. resulting in certainly wasted damage against smarter targets. I guess you could go 2xHAG30 2xMPL if you want some protection against lights. Adding a PPC, though I haven't tested, will likely add a high amount of ghost heat for less damage. If timed properly maybe it could work... but I still feel the dual 40's might be more efficient, or at the minimum easier to use.

this would be the way to go, however, the erll will run hotter but at least you have non-ammo based weapons to back you up.

If you have room for it, I recommend the Advanced Sensor Package over Advanced Zoom. The magnification is comparable and you don't have the wonky interface.

One thing I would have added is a targeting computer. This would have tightened the zoom magnification while also boosting projectile speed.

I've found Advanced Zoom is much more stable with arm lock. And yeah the lock on box ignores your advanced zoom window, it's rendering based on your normal zoom.

Adv Zoom is really nice on long range. You are more of a middle or close range player. Obv you are not comfortabler with it.

You can run an Advanced Sensor Package on clan mech now can't you? You could swap some of that ammo for an ASP and ditch the advanced zoom if you don't like it. I think you get 4x with the ASP don't you?

I have a Night Gyr build like this. Just 2 HAG 30's and a crap ton of ammo. It wrecks when used correctly! Long range at 1st and then when the enemy is damaged toward the end game, sweep in and take them down.

I have a similar mech, smaller engine with some lasers and less ammo. I love my dual HAG40 Kodiak, taking trades in that thing feels so good haha

Hmmm... Tempted to try it out with two ERLL's and two HAG30's. Would need to drop the engine though, but... Even if it doesn't have Night Gyrs ECM, those hardpoint locations in sidetorsos are really nicely tight and bunched up. : )

if you try it with 2 20 cha gauss rifles and 2 er large lasers it works real well. makes a great sharp shooter.

Sorry Baradul but I gotta dislike. As good as you are, it's *BEYOND* infuriating to watch you play a team-based game and then...ignore your team. Askign "where is everybody" repeatedly after someone JUST spotted a target for you isn't good content - it's just obnoxious.
