Make sure you join a team for the upcoming MWO 2021 Comp. You don't have to do well, just play 20 games with your team and you'll get like 7500 MC (and other stuff) to buy hero mechs! I've done that twice now. And loot bag events can yield a good amount of MC too. I have about 10 hero mechs that I've never paid for. Oh and wait for the various sales before you spend your MC to get them half price

Best part of Baradul getting destroyed in a match is that we get hear Baradul doing play by play for the rest of the match. Damn it's fun to watch and listen to you watch the match!

You’ve got to try out two uac 10s with either 4 heavy mediums or 4 erml, run it with two uacs on one side and the lasers on the other. I love it. Feels decently powerful to me.

I would say dropping the heatsink for ammo would be a good call. Your heat seemed to top out around 60% and that was mostly *after* you were out of ammo for the AC's.

Hey Baradul, I just obtained the Ebon Jaguar hero mech and went for a quad U-AC2 with the 20% U-AC jam chances parts, you should give it a try, it is absolutely sick !

If a mech on your team hasn't moved since the beginning of the game, any team member that loses a mech should be able to respawn in that mech and take it over. That would help make up for the disadvantage of those disconnects ruining the odds of winning.

What's a good beginner mech for each class? Just started playing this, a bit overwhelmed with the choices 😆

That's a good question, since within the classes there are roles too (fire support, flanker, sniper, brawler). I would recommend something relatively easy like a Catapult to help you learn positioning within the team as a fire support, rather than a brawler (like an Atlas) where you may have to lead the charge and you'd be punished hard for engaging at the wrong time.

What I find works is to find what weapon you like working with using the testing grounds, then find a mech that can utilize that weapon how you would like (high mounts, able to fit the weapon in the arms if you prefer that, lots of slots for that weapon if you intend to boat it). In case you had not noticed this, you can go to the store, edit the mechs in the mechlab before you buy them, then test them out in the testing grounds without ever buying anything. I recommend testing them in adverse environments like tourmaline because that will show how it will perform when you are really pushing the heat curve. Beyond that, there are few mechs that work close to stock that can be used and still work. The Crab and the Enforcer are great examples of mechs that start out decent, and can be built upon incrementally as you make more money. I do not worry to much about pre set builds, and worry more about bringing what you like on a platform you like. Have fun out there!

I haven't played MWO in a long time, and wasn't very good to begin with. Having said that, I fail to see by which metric the Ebon Jaguar is now garbage. Would you care to explain? On paper, the Jaguar seems just fine. High mounted side torso weapon hardpoints means it can clear pieces of cover and some hills with little exposure of center mass. The biggest issue I can see is the convergence.
