Barangay New Israel - BUENAS RONDALLAS - Tugtugan blues

Footage was taken last June 10, 2013 at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the House of my beloved father, the Late Reverend Filoteo "Titing" Gonzales-Aguilar located at Purok 3, Brgy. New Israel, Makilala, North Cotabato;
The Buenas Rondallas is one of the Tourist Attraction in Brgy. New Israel where the famous tamed monkeys and longest zip line in Asia (1.2 kilometer long) are located;
Brgy. New Israel is also one of the Trek to Mount Apo (the highest peak in Asia);
This merriment was after the Panapos sa Pangadgi ni Papa Titing.
Five members of the BUENAS RONDALLAS present on this occasion are;

I remember my good friend Apolonio Pacheco, formerly of Jaen Nueva Ecija, who was the leader of the Araullo University Rondalla in the1970s. He was very good. Most of his group's performance was made with the Araullo University Dance Troupe of Cabanatuan City, under the tutelage of Mario Eugenio, formerly a Bayanihan dancer.

I really enjoyed watching this video especially the bass player with that facial expression filled with musical enthusiasm for I thought he was going to tear his instrument, I admired his stroke of strumming his strings, he is wonderful to watch him strum his four- string bass guitar. I would call him “the drum major” of the group, and lastly the friendly smile of that gentleman third from the left. I salute you, sir...just be happy and cheerful and life goes on...God Bless...

+Policronio Fontanilla. The Filipino "BASS" guitar in the video is called a "Bajo De Uñas". It used to be commonly used in traditional Filipino music, like the Rondalla, Kundiman and Harana, but, sadly, it has since been replaced by the Double Bass and other modern bass guitars.

When I was growing up in the Philippines, every Christmas season we would have different carolers from different places, and while most of them performed modern songs, some groups stood out for their unique musical sounds more prevalent during the colonial period.
