I suggest you to implement a method of making a grid of soak pits of size 4 ft x 4 ft x 6 ft height atbkower levels where water accumulation happens @ 1 per acre and fill it with boulders upto 5 ft and top the upper 1 ft with removed soil. Can take regular cultivation over pits. Also think of integrating vettiver along periphery of pqnk beds this will also provide a continuous supply of straw mulch. Every alternate year these pits have to be emptied 50% cleaned off accumulated soil and refill back. We had amazing improvements in water table in Maharashtra in India where this project is named as JALTARA.
