Barbados Loves its Horse Racing (Binaural audio)

On Saturdays in Bridgetown, Barbados, the Garrison Savannah Racetrack hosts several horse races. The calendar year is divided up into three seasons. As I found out, horse racing is a big deal here!
This particular race was the 71st Barbados Guineas, for West Indian bred 3-year-olds. It is the first jewel of the Barbados Triple Crown.
The police officer and the sandbags across the street were to prevent people from standing on that side of the street during the races as a Covid precaution. I'm not sure of its efficacy...
I missed the beginning of this particular race because I didn't realize that contrary to American races, horse races in Barbados run clockwise. You can always count on Americans to do things differently than the rest of the world.

Don't know about the covid precaution. Maybe it is something to do with how close they get to the riders and staff. More likely it is to control the habit of rushing across the track as soon as a race is finished.
