@jpvuelma5 жыл бұрын
Barbados is in the Caribbean, so becoming a member of the African Union wouldn't make any sense.
@kodonga15 жыл бұрын
@@jpvuelma Geographically, Barbados is not on the African continent. But historically, racially and to a great extent culturally Barbados is African. The commonwealth is an organisation whose members cannot be geographically defined but it exists because of historical and racial ties. The fracophonie also exists not because of the geographical locations of its members but because of cultural and historical ties. There are other examples that I can't mention here because of time constraint and space. But suffice to say that the African Union is a Pan African organisation and most the inspirators of Pan Africanism come from the West Indies or Carribean in likes of Marcus Garvey, George Padmore and Dr Henry Sylvester Williams just to name a few. For your information, Haiti has now been admitted to the African Union as a full member starting from the organisations next seesion in March 2020. Yes, Africa and the Carribeans may be far apart in terms of distance but they have the same historical, racial and cultural heritage which is enough for them to form a body.

@@kodonga1 Africa has similarities to Barbados only because both people are black. Not cultural or societal norms.. Barbados is a westernised educated society. You are educated in writing but prejudiced in your racist belief system that black people belong together because of their skin colour.
