I enjoyed this documentary. I attended many concerts over the years and had the honour of meeting Barbara. She was always very down to Earth and kind. Her voice is so pure, clear and I never tire of listening to her sing. As a lyricist myself, the musicality is important, but the words are just as important. To hear every single word sung with such clarity is an absolute dream. I love the folk connection and particularly hearing about the comment from Sandy Denny, an artist who I also admired and saw perform with Fairport Convention in the 70s at Croydon Greyhound.

Barbra Dickson a true legend of folk pop and acting legendary in all three. I bow to her talent. I touch the wall at the entrance in homage to the old folk club every time I am in Chalmers Street opposite the Old Alaris chip shop.

Saw Barbara perform in the John Paul George Ringo & Bert matinee show at the Lyric Theatre London July 1975. I went in a Beatles fan and came out a Barbra Dickson fan. A stunning performance and knew then she was going places😎👌

Barbara Dickson is a delightfully charming Scottish lass with loads of talent and honesty. The longer I listened to this documentary the more I liked her. And her duet with Elaine Paige is absolutely perfect to my ears. Scotland is damned lucky to have her. Her folk songs are great, too.

You can hear her backing vocals clear as a bell on Gerry Rafferty albums City to City and Night Owl. She sounds amazing 👌

Barbara used to come down to do the West Midland folk circuit of clubs regularly. I was the secretary and she would stay at my flat in Worcester. Then Dickie Bond and I would take her to the clubs at night. She was always a delightful guest and all the guys swooned for her . Great memories. We started Bromyard Folk Festival ... cold but lively 🤣 Then she moved to London and became gradually more famous. Best was singing “Sitting on the bus on the front seat at the top” Wish I could find a KZbin of that

Great to see Troy Donockley here, as well as more famous faces. I first came across him in his Nightwish incarnation, but I'm enjoying finding out more about him and his music as time goes by.

I still remember as a young lad sneaking down that little close in Chalmers Street Dunfermline listening to the folk singers doing their stuff in “The Howff” as it was called then but at that time I didn’t know that Barbara was one of the singers. But as a Dunfermline man myself very proud of Barbara and what she’s achieved.

Barbara's singing voice is up there with the best ever, along with Barbra S and Karen C. She has proven that she can act too.

Like Billy, I too fancied Barbara like mad - like Billy I immediately realised she was well out of my class. Barbara is still my favourite female singer.
