Barbara Eden - Son of a Preacher Man/Matchmaker (1969)

Eden performed two songs on the first episode of Engelbert Humperdinck's variety show in December 1969: Dusty Springfield's newest hit, "Son of a Preacher Man," and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" from Fiddler on the Roof (3:32). Tom Jones appeared on the same show, but unsurprisingly, they only appeared together in the intro and outro (read her autobiography for that story!). Clip provided by sean32. Copyright 1969 ITC.

I love this! I'm 72 and Barbara was an early crush of mine. Besides "I Dream of Genie", I thought her appearance on the Andy Griffith show as the manicurist was fantastic. Btw, whoever created these two performances was a genius. The "Matchmaker" skit was hilarious. I wish they still had variety shows like this on TV.
