Barbara, you handled Jay's pervy behavior really well. He didn't touch the other participants, but his hands were all over you from the start. Let's hope future generations of Innocents don't have to deal with such smut.

Does he make me look good? Maybe...but I think what he really does is help people see how amazing parrots are. Which I think is an important goal. Helping people love parrots is the first step in getting them to care about their welfare and status in the wild.

I use to take my blue front in the shower with me..he LOVED it!!! It cuts down on the smell also..If you are not able to handle him yet they have shower perches with suction cups..just transfer him that way...or even a spray bottle thats never had anything in it would work too.

Big fan of all of you and your birds. You've inspired me to work with Barbosa, my Miligold Macaw, to see if he can sing anything. Being a Macaw, he isn't a huge talker, but he doesn't whistle either, so perhaps he could learn a tune or two! Maybe a little Lady Gaga?!

Barbara: I was hoping to access your web site, but it wouldn't go through for me.---I had a teacher, in North Dakota 1958, named Heidenreich, and wondered how common that name is. She eventually married and moved to, Maine I think. I don't have more information than that. ---It was a joy to see your name in this amazing clip!

This video clip is from 2000 when I was an employee of the company mentioned. I was one of several trainers who worked with groucho on a daily basis doing conservation education presentations primarily in zoos. So nope....he was not borrowed : ) I am not sure I understand the comment about being paid....we were not paid for the appearance.
@SlaveParrot9 жыл бұрын
It is unfortunate that, when the microphone is turned on for Ms. Heidenreich, at about 6:40-something of the clip, there is an annoying intermittent rumble due presumably to some kind of electrical interference, from about 6:59 on. I tried cleaning it up by extracting the audio, and using Sound Forge Pro's cleaning tools, as well as another program, but I haven't been able to get rid of it. Is there a master copy of the program available, one with multiple audio channels, one of which might be cleaner, or was the problem completely due to the microphone connection, and is therefore present on all channels (if there were more than one)?
@BarbaraHeidenreich9 жыл бұрын
+George Butel Thanks for trying. I do appreciate that. The copy I had came from one of the trainers who had it on VHS taped off of the TV. It is that old. I had it converted to digital a looooong time ago. I am afraid The VHS copy is where the audio issues originated. Wish I had a better version, but I am afraid I don't. I am sure NBC has it archived somewhere :) It was July of 2000.

Barbara, Do you still have contact with Groucho? I went to see him at Flights of Wonder October 2015 but missed his show that day. I plan to return late March 2017 to see him at Animal Kingdom Flights of Wonder.
