@@barbaramandrell859 I noticed Riba did the same song and George came out like he did with you. I believe it was attribute to you. Do you remember that magic moment when he came out at the end of the song? I don't think you did that a lot, mostly you singing the song alone. Also there have been many of queens who have worn the Crown in country music.... But none that have warn it as gracefully as yourself. Loved the show with your sisters also.

In the mid 80’s Barbara played a concert at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg VA. It was my summer high school job. I was lucky enough to get front row seats to her concert. I only bought 1 ticket because no one in my family likes country music and the same goes for my friends. I went by myself, and had a poster that said “Hey Barbara, can I sing a song with you?” It work with Ann Murray a few yrs back so what he’ll, I had to try. I held up my sign and towards the end, Barbara invited me on stage. She asked me if I could sing, and I replied yes ma’am. We sang I was country when country wasn’t cool. I sang George Jones part. I knew Barbara was short, but she’s a tiny little thing who can sings with a beautiful powerful voice.

I knew the writer who created "I was Country when Country wasn't cool" and he sued her and won! I still like her version of the song though.

Yeah I don’t know who you think you know but Dennis Morgan and Rhonda Fleming wrote that song along with MOST of Barbara’s other hits including “Sleeping Single In A Double Bed” and more and they never sued her. As a matter of fact they both attended her Opry tribute they just did last July. Afraid somebody told you a whopper.

@@johnjones6827 Not according to Google. According to the research, Barbara Mandrell wrote the song, so that's it. It's gospel.
@johnjones6827 Жыл бұрын
@@MissouriOzarksMusicandVideo well being that Barbara only wrote one song in her career called “I Count You” in the 1970’s I’d say whatever you are reading is wrong. Dennis Morgan, Rhonda Fleming and Barbara are all friends and there was never a question or a lawsuit over who wrote the song.
