@Daniel Murray i think its that eventful side which put a lot of people off. If we're going by anecdotes, I know people who don't like to watch it because it's too physical and too much stop start. Football is way more pleasing to the eye than Rugby as well. Also the rules in rugby are a little more complicated than football so it is easier to follow.

All rugby players at this level are tough. Look at Faf De Klerk for instance. He won't stand back for anyone and have made many hard tackles on bigger men. Just the nature of the beast at that level of rugby.
