Luigi Colani was a famous German designer, who always used flowing, natural and curvy design language. He was best known for his stunning interpretations and creations of cars (Ferrari etc.), furniture etc in the 80s. Always nice videos!! Keep it up! Cheers

I received this brush yesterday . Some years ago( or many should I say) I've tried this gun and I were( and I'm still) amazed by the performances,the capacity of this brush. This week-end,I'll give a try. With the Infinity, this brush is in the high end range, It's expensive but worth it. In Canada this brush cost 370$ without the shipping and all the taxes. Two things: the plastics parts could have a much better finish for the range price of this airbrush. I know that this point could be see as a bit of nitpicking but as I said for the price no flaws should be in that kind of airbrush. Finally it could be awsome if this airbrush have an option for fan spray pattern sets for like 0.8 ,1.0, 1.2 mm needles/nozzle sets!

For cleaning the brass nozzle Tamiya 87105 extra small cotton swabs are perfect they are slightly larger and have a sharp point and reach all the way down to the needle seat beats the $40 H&S nozzle reamer and avoids damage from the wire holding the plastic bristles in the gum picker.

Thank you! After watching your thorough review, I bought one of these with the .8 needle/nozzle from SprayGunner (and added the .4 needle/nozzle and a 5ml cup as well). I’ve been looking for a larger-format sprayer for awhile, but seeing you pass unthinned Tamiya paint from the jar with such a fine atomization… WOW! That was the selling point for me!

The inner works is based on a airbrush design from the 40s. Also Sata had a similar design. The screw behind the trigger is to control when the airflow starts,you can set it up so air first then paint, or paint and air together. If you take the Handel of then you can still use the quick connector.

Wow... This video really has some wheels turning in my head! I have been considering the Grex trigger airbrush with the fan tip for 1/16 car kits but this Colani is intriguing. I prefer to stick with one brand of airbrush for parts interchangeably and I already have two H&S airbrushes - a siphon feed and a gravity feed. The Colani would let me swap cups and possibly other parts too. Thanks Robert!

Many happy returns for your birthday. Nice review, but it’s out of my particular price range. 😳 Just a thought can you add/incorporate a neodymium type magnet(s) to that airbrush holder to help position/hold it to metallic bases for your air booth?🤔 Quest - Are there any paint color “equivalency” charts for your paints versus the FS, RAL, RLM, etc. type colors?🤔

Scalecoat is a great paint and a go to for model railroaders because of their custom colors. Down side is it takes a life time to dry and stinks pretty bad. But it dries to a glossy finish that you can decal directly too. As far as the AB I am sticking with my grex and creos for now. It looks cool though.

I have the Black Base by Alclad and Mr.Color 02. Alclad is glossier but i think the enamel smell it's too much and if i touch the model even after drying time it leaves marks. Do i go just for Gloss Black paint like Mr.Color?

Hi Barbatos, new to the channel and very NEW to airbrushing in general, ***LOVE*** your review style and I've already learned so much!!! :) Quick question? @28:42 you mention that in a future video you would be reviewing the HobbyMio HM-331 airbrush, but I quickly scanned through all the videos since Jun 4, 2022 up to your latest KBS Diamon Finish Clear video but couldn't find it...? Would love to hear your final thoughts on this airbrush??? The product design stands out for sure, but honestly, to me, this more looks like a normal HS airbrush with a pistol grip. I can see why some with certain hand disabilities would choose this, but other than that, I cant see why this product exists. I'd much rather have HS make a procon/Iwata style trigger/pistol style airbrushes. But since Iwata owns SH I very much doubt that would happen.

I can see that it would be useful for me for not only painting miniatures but for terrain with a larger needle as well. However, it will likely be a year or two before I can consider picking up another brush. Being a mecha builder, did you ever try the Harder & Steenbeck Geminus Ver. Ed airbrush? It was a limited edition they made a few years ago. I have one, but I don't see many people talk about it.

Definitely a unique looking airbrush. Not for me though. Since getting my GSI Creos PS-290 I don't see me going away from trigger actions for larger needle sizes. Still use a sparmax sp35 for smaller details as i find top actions to have a bit more accuracy.

Thanks for this review. Currently deciding between this and the Infinity CRplus. Can the Colani blow out just air on its own, or is it always a mix of both air and paint e.g with the Infinity you push down for just air and then pull back for just paint. Just trying to understand the difference, as I feel like this will be a major deciding factor on which one I choose in the end.
@m.b.5887
@m.b.5887 Жыл бұрын
Yes, this is possible with the Colani. When you pull the lever, the preliminary air starts immediately, but no paint is sprayed yet. If you pull the lever further, you will eventually feel resistance. If you continue to pull from this point, color will be added. This is why the Colani is advertised as a double-action airbrush gun.

Interesting Airbrush and excellent review. The one thing I'm curious about is whether or not it has a Fan Shaped option for wide section spraying.. I would ASSUME that it does given the option for very large needles, but I also can't help but think that there must be a better option for 'wide format' paint application when it comes to airbrushes, no? I need to paint about a dozen computer chassis' of various sizes so I'm looking for something that I can paint with that will lay down paint like a mini spray-gun, but can also be used as a bigger version of an airbrush, although I do have an Iwata Eclipse CS.. (my budget is about $250 / US). This Steenbeck is definitely out of my price point, but maybe some of you have suggestions? Should I stick to a mini-spraygun or something?

The design looks beautiful, though I'm confused, is it a single action airbrush? I get the trigger controls the amount of air, but how do you control the amount of paint you're pushing through?
@jnrmack
@jnrmack 2 жыл бұрын
Not a signal action as per say. the trigger design is one used by many German airbrush manufactures at one time,as it is many have closed down. How it works as you pull the trigger back you get air as you pull further back you get paint. most of them you can control when the air kicks in, from above. The screw behind the trigger is to control when the airflow starts,you can set it up so air first then paint, or paint and air together.

No, it's a dual action. More paint as you pull back. It's like a reverse trigger type airbrush

Colani was the name of the designer. He was German not Italian. Not all great designer come from Italy 😉

If I were Harder and Steinbeck, I would slighly adjust the name of the airbrush so its not quite as close to Colonic. ( Apologies to Luigi Colani, the great designer for the attempt at humor) Amazing they can get that size needle in as small a package as it is. Interesting ergonomics...

Its named after a famous German Designer who helped design it. Luigi Colani. So changing the name would be something that is not possible and still have respect for the designer.

cakes, but found it uneasy, so the boss gave all the equipment to his staff (airbrush, compressor, and so on) to sell it and share the poney, so I got it around 100 € at the time, brand New

This airbrush looks good but why not just get a car spray gun for painting large stuff? It a lot cheaper.

I tried that but they require a full sized auto shop type of compressor. They need large amounts of constant high PSI and I currently don't have the room for one. It's the main reason some of these airbrush companies are offering large sized needles

Detail brush its not. You have to use the wrist to much. 300 bucks for a general purpose sprayer? Probably not, nada.

The most idiotic airbrush ever held. 3x more details than a normal airbrush and a lot of stupid knots where they will wear out in a moment. If you buy this deformity, you must immediately take at least 3 more spare parts, preferably in several copies. Comfortable and looks good though. for small jobs, say, painting models now and then, it will be good enough
