BARBEL FISHING - First Barbel of the season BANKED! - June 2023

Join me on A recent early morning Barbel session on a small shallow River.
Using free-lined meat cast tight to willows could I managed my First Bar of Gold of the season?
It was a memorable morning with highs & lows as I lost A big fish & forgot to press record on my camera missing some crazy action :( The Barbel I landed was a beauty tho...

@@yorkshireriverrover7199 three very short sessions on the local small river so far. The silvers on float followed by a barbel, and last time out a chub of 3.5lb ish. Not had chance to fish for much more than two hours yet. Hoping that’ll change soon though 🤞🏻

Another great video. If that's where I think it is I fished there the other day. Couldn't get my bait as close to far bank as you did. Was hoping to get them feeding out from under the tree but no joy.

Hi mate, yeah I went a couple of weeks ago & had the same problem when the flow is heavy it pulls your bait to the near bank... when the flow is steady the Barbel feed under the tree nearer to the peg so it's easier in steady conditions I've found.... keep at it mate as there are loads of Barbel in this spot 😮

Sure was a beauty, call it 1 all as tge first fish I hooked snapped me clean 😕.. couldn't stop it, must be some bigger fish down there this year pal 😮
