BARBEL FISHING| my first OVERNIGHT session on the RIVER TRENT!

Hello and welcome to my channel, thank you for watching. First of all sorry about the poor sound at times in this video but its not called A1 pits for nothing!
I really enjoyed this session and it was nice to tick night fishing on a river off my list. I will definitely be doing it more often from now on and hopefully the predators will be feeding next time as well.

An enjoyable watch as always Dan. Barbel fishing in January is seldom easy so you did well. The rivers will be well up again now after the storm yesterday. I'm on the Trent for the last week of the season so hoping the conditions will improve. Best wishes.

Mighty mags 💪🏻👍🏻🎣😎 keep them on when you sleep next time. Just fill your feeder with some pellets that can’t come out so you’ve got smell and keep mags on the business end 👍🏻

HI just watched your latest video, well done. What was the stretch you where fishing ? I am just wondering if you can drive behind your peg as my knees aren't what they used to be. So any info would be great. I do go to Collingham, Gunthorpe and Burton Joyce. Cheers Carl

It was A1 pits stretch Carl. Seems like you can park behind most pegs if the grounds firm enough. Hope that helps

Hi Dan, nice video; btw I don't understand why it seems so difficult to catch barbels with Pellets in winter in English rivers...Yesterday I caught 6 barbels (2,5kg to 3kg) in the river Ourthe (Belgium) with Halibut pellet 20mm. Any idea ?

I think its because when the waters really cold they don't want to eat a rich, heavy meal so maggots offer a lighter alternative. Could also be that with the natural food in short supply in winter perhaps the maggots mimic it. Either way they work! Haha thanks for watching mate

DanGoesOutdoors I catch them on the river Thames in Greater London on pellets in the winter my mate had 3 in a evening session a few weeks ago

@@Mypitbull82 yeah I tryed big baits all last winter with no luck then this year switched to maggots and so far I've caught everytime. Its maggots in winter from now on for me! Haha. Thanks for watching mate

Another good watch mate. What oz feeders were you using on that session? Getting my barbel gear together for the Trent next season want to make sure I've got enough lead. Cheers, keep up the good work.

Thanks Marc. They were 5oz on the day. I keep a range from 4-6oz usually. Hope that helps
