I had an aortic dissection last year. I don't recommend them. I was told that I couldn't lift weight anything over 40 lbs.

The guy on the right certainly can't be a practicing doctor with that big neck.

I was told I have an ascending aortic aneurysm. It was found during an echocardiogram. Apparently, the only thing to do is watch it over time. I’m still lifting. Hoping nothing bad happens.

You guys are the Lisa Sanders of strength training medical cases! You should write a book, Jacked: Medical Misadventures in the Quest to Get Swole.

I'm one of the many people who came into the urgent care with similar (but much lesser) symptoms a few weeks after I dragged some 450 lb windows up a steep gravel pathway. They wanted to test me for this same injury to be safe and it ended up costing several thousand bucks at the time. Nothing showed up so I probably just had lots of inflammation of the ribcage cartilledge (caustochondritis ? ). It's really interesting to hear about the real deal injury to understand what that doctor was freaked out about.

I wonder if a heart CT with calcification score would have shown any abnormalities prior to it happening? Simple, cheap test as it includes a full CT of the heart and surrounding areas?

The polls on socials gave a lot of buy in, with my wife and I both arguing the case of two different diagnosis
