This, in my opinion, will always be the most passionate rendition of the Adagio. Perfect, flawless, crystalline, pure raw emotion from everyone involved. This will never be outdone. Bravo and Bravo.

I'm a singer, a Verdi Baritone, 67 years old. I Think of all the music I've heard over that time,yet my favorite piece of music is not vocal, or solo *anything,* it is this instrumental work, by the inimitable American composer Samuel Barber. When listening, even in public, it makes me openly, unashamedly cry and weep like a little child. This particular realization by the great and famous Gustave Dudamel, conducting the Vienna Philharmonic, is such a sweet, lyrical gift to all of us!

God Bless Mother England 🇬🇧 for Her profound act of humanity in response to unfathomable inhumanity. This soulful rendition will never be forgotten. I’m weeping still. 🇺🇸

Wrong flag, that is the flag of the UK not England, two totally different things.
@BaseballinHeaven Жыл бұрын
@@Bruce-1956 The UK flag 🇬🇧 today is more similar to the one England flew during the American Revolution than is the flag of England 🏴. Saying “God Bless Mother United Kingdom” doesn’t have the same ring to it as “God Bless Mother England”. This flag 🇬🇧 is the more recognizable flag representing England throughout the world, not this flag 🏴. You’ve missed the sentiment I was feeling towards England due to nitpicking.

@@BaseballinHeaven shall I give you a lesson in British history, in 1707 the governments of Scotland 🏴 and England 🏴 united to form Great Britain 🇬🇧, see how this works. I know it can be difficult for an American to understand another countries history. I hope this clears the confusion up.
@BaseballinHeaven Жыл бұрын
@@Bruce-1956 No confusion, Bruce. You’re more interested in proving others wrong than embracing other’s hearts. That flawed behavior is ubiquitous throughout the internet and speaks of the inherent sadness of the human condition.

At that moment when Slatkind shuts down the violin crescendo, is the precise moment humanity got closest to touching Heaven
@georgetincher7859 Жыл бұрын
Hard to argue with that. I don't care how many times I listen to this, I always get the chills as that violin crescendo builds. This song just hits you like no other. It's almost too beautiful to have come from a mere human being.

The concert continued with an equally movingly performance of Beethoven IX. When the choir sang the last phrases, you could hear the western world cry. Brüder! Über'm Sternenzelt Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen. Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen? Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt? Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt! Über Sternen muß er wohnen. Be embraced, all ye millions! With a kiss for all the world! Brothers, beyond the stars Surely dwells a loving Father. Do you kneel before Him, oh millions? Do you feel the Creator's presence? Seek Him beyond the stars! He must dwell beyond the stars.

When. Times are though. When. After I made a mistake. When. Not loved. When. Alone. When. Looking back at my life. When. I could've. When. I would've. When. I should've. And then. All of the Beautiful things in between, that made my life worth living, came these music that elevates my being to keep on going.

This is a profoundly moving and meaningful performance. These fine musicians and conductor have literally thrown their guts on the stage with the heart, soul, and sublime emotion in their flawless performance. Every minutiae and nuance of meaning, emotion, and deep soul is explored in their performance. Barber wrote this upon the death of his beloved wife, and to describe it as a "scream from the soul" would be a gargantuan understatement. All emotions arise at once and swirl endlessly, showing the depth of meaning he wishes to convey. Passionate...soulful...profound...just pick a superlative and apply it. Bravo and thank you for all you did in this performance.

President Trump should play this version of adagio immediately after he is sworn in as 47 on January 20 2025 repeatedly 5 times. The world will be forced to listen, weep in shame and maybe JESUS CHRIST HOPEFULLY WILL CONVICT US TO LAY DOWN OUR ARMS, FORGIVE AND STOP FIGHTING. PRAY. IM 81 AND A VIETNAM COMBAT VET A CHRISTIAN. I CRY ALWAYS AT ANY VERSION OF ADAGIO.
