For Fashion Pixies retailers refused to see the product because it was too “dark and scary” For Monster High the molds were from an unreleased line called “LaTeenez” not My Scene and pieces laying around and it was Garret Sandrr

Sometimes I wish the prototypes could have been the final product! I've seen a lot of Barbie movie dolls prototype like barbie Genevieve and she's so pretty on her sample. The Myscene monster high prototype is my personal type and I would love them to release those version aswell But we all know Mattel need to cut corners for profit.

I love the prototypes for the Monster High dolls! I prefer them actually, they remind me of a goth version of MyScene dolls, which is awesome. But, I do think the final product is probably more suited to what they were going for with the brand.

Frankie not being green is a huge flop, so I’m glad they didn’t use that look lol, plus the actual dolls we got look way more unique. The prototypes look too similar to barbie and other dolls honestly.. so I’m glad we got what we did, fits the aesthetic

Side note 😭 its truly a tragedy that mattel has cut corners and the quality of the barbie fashions are poor . I'm sick of the current playline dolls and when it comes to the clothing and hair quality

The monster high prototypes are not actually my scene dolls there from a line that was never made call LaTEENas and the image was shared by Garrett Sander not Carter Brian call Brian wasn’t even working at Mattel at the time also it’s a Clawdeen not Clawdeena I think you are watching too much Clawdeena9 her name was also supposed to be Howelleen But then change to be her little sister’s name

That was very interesting to see. I went back and forth because some of the prototypes outfits I liked, but I liked the head sculpts on some of the final ones better, really hard to decide. And I was quite surprised at the Monster High ones! It would have been fun to have them closer to the My Scene dolls, but that's just because I loved that line! ♥️

That's been a really great video, I enjoyed the comparison between what could have been and what we got in the dolls. I was most surprised by Clawdeens change, and I would have liked her outfit too. I would love to see more of this kind of content 😊.

I think the prototype of movin groovin Barbie is so cute! I really love her outfit. I kinda prefer the final Monster High dolls but the prototype looks cool too. Prototype outfits are more detailed and their legs look so much better.

I mostly prefer the prototypes with the exception of movin groovin Barbie. I always loved her outfit I was just never a fan of the pattern/colours. The shape/style I loved though. I played with that doll for hours on end as a kid but I just remember that the whole walking thing didn't work that well. Her shoes double as stamps and she came with ink so she stamped as she walked but it never worked

I prefer the boots from the prototype of Magic of the Rainbow rather than her being barefoot. Other than that, I like the final doll better. Great video as always!

On the last barbie, they definitely decided to do an all-over print on that floral pink dress instead of a border print to save money. You can use more of the fabric when it's an all over, also less waste. Also seems like they cut back on the size of the pattern for the skirt. Can cut more skirts out of one bolt of fabric, but also save on costs. Also please do more prototype videos, they're fascinating and fun.

I love the vibrancy of the prototypes for the Dance Moves Barbies; you'd spot them in a store aisle from like a mile away haha. For the 1999 Holiday Barbie, I honestly can't pick one; they're both gorgeous. Beyond Pink's and Moving Grooving prototypes slayed, imo. Secret Door's, Fairytopia's and Bratz Pixie Magic's prototypes are leagues better as well. As for Monster High, the prototypes strike me too much as just Barbies dressed up for Halloween; the final products are hella unique and striking. Mattel seems to have downgraded in a lot of these final decisions haha 😅😅

Dance move Barbie - Prototype ♥ Holiday Barbie, I would have liked the hood better. Beyond pink, I think the bell bottoms would have been fun.♥ Moving Groovin - Prototype♥ Bead Blast - Prototype♥ Bead Hair - I like the look of the final product, but I like the classic beads, not the one with letters. Starlight - Prototype ♥ The final products looks like painted on shirt and leggings Secret Door - Prototype ♥ Monster High - Final Product, I love the color variations♥ Bratz Fairies - Prototype♥ I prefer straight hair, not curly. Fairytopia - neither really. The prototype doesn't look like wings, it looks like a flower. The stockings are too busy. The hair is shorter, so I prefer the longer hair. The final product is too much, too many stripes. If the shirt were a shirt and not painted on, that's fine, but then the wings needed to be a solid color. IMO

The Beyond Pink prototype Barbie is definitely giving Britney, I like it a lot more than the final one personally. Also oh my god, the Starlight Adventure prototype has been added to my grail dolls list. It's really interesting to see these, like seeing concept art for movies. The Magic of the Rainbow prototype's wings look like they were done with Blo Pens, lol

Mattel has really released for Dance Moves line Midge instead of Christie in European countries, she has same outfit like Christie. So Midge was used in line as well, just only for European market, not US.

I loved Living Dead Dolls but they pull the same trick. The prototype images for the Scooby Doll and Elvira dolls looked a lot better than what was released. I'm still ticked that Elvira's high heels were molded instead of removable.

The implementation of the hard plastic really kills Barbie for me. I remember having a large Barbie suitcase with all kinds of outfits and accessories in it. Barbie actually sold outfits and accessories separately for their dolls. Whatever happened to that? The majority of the fun of playing with a Barbie is the ability to change her outfits and accessories. 🤦🏼‍♀️
