I enjoy EVERY video! I think these sets are great (first set definitely better), but for some reason I've never added them to my collection. I think one of the most interesting things about these is their backstory - from concept to production, the entire process happened at such an accelerated pace (compared to how it typically plays out) to ensure they'd hit the shelves in time to directly compete with Hasbro's Jem & the Holograms. I'm sure a quick Google search will pull up all the 411...very interesting. Thanks for making such great videos...your time and effort is greatly appreciated! 🙂 - Brandon (from VA)

The blue earring on *Barbie* is actually for the Dana doll. Barbie had silvery grey plastic star-shaped earrings, that match her ring, your Dana doll is actually wearing your Barbie’s earrings for some reason. Barbie also would have originally come with a neon pink wrist cuff with long fringe like the one the other dolls are wearing, and a pink hair tie made of a piece of fringe material. She also had closed-toe pumps of the same type as Crystal Barbie and Jewel Secrets Barbie. *DeeDee’s* fringed cuff is supposed to be worn on her wrist. *Dana* is wearing the earrings that actually go with Barbie, the blue earrings were hers originally. And her cuff is supposed to be worn on her wrist. *Diva’s* microphone is actually one that goes with the Dance Club Barbie dolls, so if you’ve got a Dance Club Barbie, Kayla or Devon who doesn’t have her black microphone, you have this one you could give her. All of this years’ Rockers dolls came with silvery grey plastic microphones. What’s happening with your doll’s pants is the reason that I very seldom stage my dolls in a seated position for very long. It can stretch out the elastic, and even flatironing the fabric won’t restore the elastic. It's also very difficult to repair elastic in a serged waistband like this. You got very lucky with your *Derek,* he often has a peeling jacket, but his pants are usually fine. He should also have a yellow guitar The only other *Ken* doll sold in the USA that used Rocker Ken’s face sculpt is 1987 Jewel Secrets Ken. There was also 1988 Bobby Bibops of Barbie And The Sensations, but that doll wasn’t available in the USA. Rocker Ken originally came with a pink guitar. The dolls didn’t have specific instruments assigned to them, other than Derek and Ken's guitars, but there was a *Live Concert* playset of instruments that was available separately. There were only four dolls pictured on the box: DeeDee was pictured playing a small drum kit, Barbie held a tambourine and sang into a mic with stand, Dana plays what is meant to be a version of a Gibson Flying V guitar, and Ken plays a synthesizer keyboard. As mentioned before, both Ken and Derek were sold with guitars, both of which were loosely based on the Fender Stratocaster, and they had glittery labels you could decorate them with. The set also comes with a trumpet, though no doll is pictured using it. There was also a playset of a *Recording Studio,* and in the box photo it shows Derek at the sound board console, DeeDee playing a version of a Charvel Star guitar, and Diva on the synthesizer keyboard. For the *Hot Rockin’ Stage* playset, they included two guitars and two synthesizer keyboards. In the box photo, Dana and Derek play keyboards, while Diva and DeeDee play the guitars (the same Fender Stratocaster style we’ve seen before). So as you can see, you can pretty much decide for yourself which instruments you want your dolls to play. In my displays, I have the second year dolls with the instrument pak, and DeeDee is on drums, Dana has the Flying V guitar, but Derek and Ken play their own guitars, and Diva is on keyboards (and holding the trumpet). My Made-To-Move custom dolls (a mix of first and second year versions) are all playing detailed instruments, most of which I found on Amazon. DeeDee plays a violin, Derek plays a Gibson Les Paul guitar, Ken plays a Fender Stratocaster guitar, Diva plays a Stratocaster-ish guitar that came with a convention fashion from 2010, and Dana plays a really cool drum set I found. I will probably mix it up at different points, I kind of conceive of these characters as playing a variety of instruments, depending on the song, none of them is limited to just one instrument. I know I want to get a good synthesizer for the group and have one of them play it, probably Ken or Diva, but maybe DeeDee. I don't think she plays violin on every song. Overall I like the second-year Rockers set okay, but the first year dolls are my favorites for the most part. I think the Derek of this set is the better of the two, his face paint and neck joint are better, and I like his gold outfit. I also think Barbie and Ken look really good. DeeDee, Diva, and Dana just don't grab me, and I really dislike the Real Dancin' Action feature. It's just gimmicky and makes the dolls harder to pose. I like all things Rockers though, so of course I have two complete sets of the second year dolls, one set in their original fashions, and another wearing the Concert Tour fashions.

I have two yellow guitars. Maybe they're what you meant. Are they open on the back side? I also saw a picture of one that is probably it. But sure where mine are. The two yellow ones I have are so plain and they are brown under the yellow sticker.

@@RFDeStefano they are just injection-molded plastic, so there is no back to the guitar. If it's a yellow guitar with a glittery sticker, then that's Derek's guitar. Ken and Derek both came with multiple straps for the guitar in several colors. Ken's guitar was pink with a glittery sticker, but there was a more detailed pink guitar without a sticker that was available with the Hot Rockin' Stage playset. That set also came with a blue guitar, again with more sculpted detail and no sticker.

@@RFDeStefano I've thought about making a video of my Rockers dolls, but I'm doing a lot of refurbishment to my playsets at the moment, so it would have to wait until I'm done with that project. I do have a couple of videos that I've done on my channel, but I haven't done anything in a while.

Dancing Dee Dee is my favorite! i agree about the head though; it is unusually small in comparison to other dolls of that time. i would really like to see that facial sculpt make a comeback.

I have all the dolls in wave 2 except for Barbie... Never got her... But Dee Dee was my favorite out of the group. I'm thinking of putting her on a petite body... Maybe 😏

The guys have their Clothes still but the ladies....? Not so much. Just bits and pieces here and there I have no idea what happened to their clothes over the years😩
