As someone who wears pastel goth yes it is an aesthetic more then a trend..Inspired by Japanese yami kawaii..it has been paired down and mixed with American goth..u did a good job for someone not familiar with the style! Only thing is the bright yellow ribbon and bear should be more pastel instead.

She's very different for sure. You did amazingly on her she looked great in all her looks. One thing I learned regarding the shine on these Barbies is you can use a bit of mod podge on the eyebrows and eyes it mattifies the faces, you can use a bit of acrylic paint with water over them also, or even spray a layer of mr superclear. 😊🥰✌💜💖🤗

@@Barbination you so welcome my dear friend, Andrew is amazing! Try a bit of modge podge, seems to work. Mr Super Clear can be bought on Amazon or Ebay if I'm not mistaken only thing with it is that it cracks because its a matt material that layers on top of vinyl faces to be able to be repainted. ✌🥰😊💜

I loveeee her boots I never expected Barbie to do that but I really wanted them to. The only thing that I would definitely remove is the unicorn on the top and something in the face (because it feels like to much) probably the pink eyebrows (I would make them a natural color) or the flames.

I actually am really loving her!! Kiss is a 70’s band❤ I actually made mannequins for a museum that had their costumes on display so I’ve held these amazing costumes 🤩🤘🏼🫶🏼 I’m glad they went all out with this Barbie, it’s rare to have such an extreme design like this

I'm glad her lips are not a bright colour. Mattel seems to fail at these dark-skinned girls. I really like her original skirt and boots. I would love to repaint them. Love the pastel goth look. But my favorite is her original look. Pastel goth is a subgenre of goth. There are many subgenre of goth. I love the fashion of the cybergoth. Though I think that subgenre is pretty much dead. It was big 20 years ago though. I still love the style though. Which is why I love the OMG Bahd Grrrl's look alot. Anyway, this Barbie Extra is a must have for me. Hope I will find ger on a sale soon. It sucks that we Europeans must pay extra for those dolls. Here in Sweden the dolls are expensive.

I love everything about this doll EXCEPT… the face. Not sure if this is a recycled face mold or a new one, but not feeling it. The pink eyebrows AND the pink flames around her eyes are a little too much. Would have loved to keep the flames and change the brow color. That said, your looks are FLAWLESS, as usual! 🤩🤩🤩

Actually there is no Saran hair available in fantasy colours currently, I have learned this on an Integrity Toys virtual convention. It's more likely that the dolls have Kiwi Nylon hair which feels similar or even softer than Saran hair. But most important: it's no Poly hair! 🫠💖🫠💖

Yes, I saw that video with the designer (I think it was David) from Integrity, and I was thinking the same thing. However, I have several Rainbow High dolls with such soft (once you wash the gel out) hair in vivid colours. I'm not sure why Mattel doesn't use it more. I think it might work better on a larger doll head because it seems a bit thicker and stiffer, but poly is so yucky.
