Agreed I actually grew up watching Barbie winx and anime Lots of people only talk negative about Barbie while ignoring all the good facts that people should actually learn It’s obvious that people who hate on Barbie are like super narrow minded because they compare themselves to her instead of learning all of the positivity she gives People should be more open minded Plus Barbie had nothing wrong with her It’s exactly what you said it’s a doll that we play with and imagine a beautiful otherworldly dimension where we can dream and be free Barbie is not fake And her movies proves it Her movies teaches us about being true to ourselves and always help each other I love Barbie movies so much I’m lucky I grew up watching them Ps Barbie princess pauper songs are best animated movie discography I have all Barbie collection I grew up with classic Barbie classic movies But I still watch all the others New movies are not as good as classic But the cats meow is best song ever And Barbie as rapunzel score is so good I always get goosebumps

So I watched Barbie movies ever since I was six. Now I'm about to be nineteen in about 20 days. As much as I love both generations of Barbie movies, both classic ones and the modern ones..... As a teen who's about to become an adult, I relate to the modern Barbie movies a lot more now. However I'll always cherish my memories witt classic Barbie movies. My personal too favorite Barbie movie is Barbie Spy Squad.

I watched Barbie movies when I was a little dude, and yes, it did inspire me to dream big. Even the songs are nostalgia to me. Growing up, some films still do hold up. My favorite will always be Princess and the Pauper, ofc ^^

Honestly, my first Barbie movie was the very old early 2000s version of the Christmas Carol. Watching it with my cousins and big sister for the first time was honestly the most magical memory that I had and it was my big sister who introduced me to more of the movies and even computer games that I played which then boosted my imagination to the sky. There was also Mariposa, Princess & the Popstar, Mermaid Tale 1 & 2, The Sisters series, and Pearl Princess that I always adored. I can see why people would see why it's negative to have Barbie be such an icon for body image and all such things womanhood, and even though I do critize myself and those claims, I'd rather latch onto the hopeful and positive aspects rather than be drained emotionally thanks. So, thanks big sis to inviting your little sister into probably her biggest inspiration for storytelling.

I was so happy when I saw you not jumping on the "the newer movies are bad" train and just be like "they may have the same effect the classic ones had on me". I grew up with the classics but I just find the newer actually pretty cute. I also love how you mentioned Rock N Royals in the good soundtracks part because it's one of these movies that are really underrated because of when it appeared which is at the end of the 2010-2015 era. What if I shine is one of my favourite songs from the Barbie movies and I also have If you love me for me as my number one because of how beautiful this song is (and because I'm ass-backwards crushing on King Dominick)

I watched all of these for the first time as an adult and enjoyed most of them! The music/songs are so good it’s addicting. The Cat’s Meow makes me cry, not sure what that says about me haha! I haven’t seen the newest ones (2020 and on) and few others I gave a chance but they just couldn’t hold my attention so I didn’t finish (Secret Door, Fairy Secret, Pony Tale, Video Game Hero, Puppy Chase) I agree with pretty much everything you said here. I can’t help but love these movies. Thanks for sharing!

I would argue Mermaidia, Mermaid Tale, and Diamond Castle come close in regards to darkness. Mermaidia: Nalu is held hostage above water and he almost suffocates. Max tries to MASSACRE a whole country. Mermaidia itself is extremely dangerous. Nori and Elina get attacked and trapped in an abyss by evil (or enchanted) vines, and then they have to swim through volcanoes and Bibble almost gets burned to death. Diamond Castle: Lydia turns the Muses into statues, Liana and Alexa's house burns down, mass hypnosis, and Alexa is forced to jump into acid. Mermaid Tale: What's different is how this movie actually shows a successful coup and actual dictatorship. Eris could also be read as a metaphor for communism, with her red outfit and "all of us are equal unless you're human" shtick. And she is quite menacing with her cyclones. The second one ups the ante, with her having bad luck powers and an army of monsters on her side. Also, we have a legit damsel in distress in this one, Kylie. She gets lured to a cyclone and Merliah has to save her. She also almost drowns, and she gets knocked out during the final fight. Nutcracker also shows a coup and a dictatorship, including a massacred, deserted village that looks straight out of something you see in WW2 pictures, including Clara and the Nutcracker joining an actual resistance. There's also Nutcracker's self hate and melancholy because of his bad reputation, and the Mouse King trying to burn the resistance members at the stake for treason. Musketeers has an attempted coup, but its generally not played as serious

I've lived with Barbie ever since I was six. My favorite Barbie movie is Barbie Spy Squad. Because in that movie in one scene Barbie said that they should do the right thing no matter what. And that one line inspired me to always try to do the right thing.....to help justice to be served. Also could you please make another video about the unreasonable hate on modern Barbie movies? Modern Barbie movies have great impact, too and I wish that people would stop hating on them.

@@RosieVisionTV the preference depends on opinion But personally some of these new Barbie movies are so underrated. And I would appreciate a video actually defending some of those good movies. I do agree that some Barbie movies aren't the greatest. But there are some that are actually really good. Barbie Spy Squad is one of the good ones with so much writing potential if you look deep into it.

Barbie also shows POC in great ways. Even in the earlier ones where they were rarer in movies, when they did appear they were respectful. Teresa always played wise characters in earlier ones like Swan Lake and Magic of Pegasus, and she and Nikki became main characters in ones like Diamond Castle, Charm School, Secret Door, Rock n Royals, and Three Musketeers. Never was Teresa a spicy Latina or a drug seller. Even when Nikki was sassy she was more than a stereotype. And we got asians like Isla from Charm School, Courtney from Diaries, and Renee, a main character starting with Spy Squad. None of these Asians were the generic Asian nerd, or the Dragon Lady.

So many of the Barbie movies are genuinely wonderful tell watch if I had to give a topless tin probably in no order being princess and the pauper, Mariposa, diamond Castle, princess charm School, and it's a hard tile sub for me between the first fairytopia and the second one no hate on the third one but I think the first one has some really wonderful messages and the second one had the transforming mermaid and fairy hybrid Elena doll which I wanted so badly of the kid but wasn't allowed to have hopefully soon I can change this as I have started collecting Barbie is but the movie ones can get a bit pricey if you want them brand new

To be completely honest I don't think there's anything wrong with the you can be anything or even taking it as you can be anything with hard work for me when I was little Barbie was a way to express myself and be someone that I physically was not and wanted to be whether that was a princess or a fairy or a marinade or a vampire or one of the myriad of careers me and my friends thought up with our dolls from young age and all through midlife I have carried one of the lessons I learned from Barbie dolls and the Barbie movies those being lessons of kindness caring for others and knowing that anything was possible and what mattered was what was on the inside because as you explained in this here video Barbie is extremely beautiful but what makes her positive role model are the aspects and attributes which appealed and inspired all sorts of kids

Why didn't you talk about the voice actors more? Not just Kelly Sheridan, but also the fact that starting with dreamhouse adventures they stopped using Vancouver voice actors a replaced them with LA generic actors you see in every American program. As a Canadian that annoys me.

I respect your opinion, but tbh I can't really agree with it cuz even tho Barbie might look like a nice role model I don't think so see Barbie has always shown Little girls to imagine their life as picture perfect where there are no obstacles in all Barbie movies Barbie first has some type of sad backstory and then she suddenly becomes a princess with her prince charming at the end of the movie she's shown to be complete perfect oh she also has a huge closet in one of her shows my issue is just that ho she's demonstrated so Perfect like she has a complete perfect life if Little girls keep watching her imagine the influence on their young minds they might get insecure about their appearence or anything they'll just look at Barbie and be like: Oh she's so pretty why am I not as Perfect as her? the issue here is Barbie's demonstration to Little girls how she's always perfect and that she has a very "Picture Perfect Life" she has a nice bf a big and cool Dreamhouse nice siblings and loving parents and lovely friends she has everything anyone would want a Dreamlife to be I just hope Barbie becomes more realistic and stops showing these Day Dreaming "Picture Perfect Lives"
