I’m Chaymie, a 27 year old toy nerd in Yangon, Myanmar with a limitless passion for toys, creativity, photography, pop culture, writing stories and creating content.

PATP dolls are so rare, I’ve been trying to get at least just Erica for my collection for literally like 5 years, and no Luck getting anything that’s affordable for me. Like even out of box she’s for at least 100 and sadly because many have been played with have loads of bite marks. Strangely enough barbie decided to release a American African versions that are cheaper and more available online for anyone that could be interested in purchasing They are always on eBay! Good luck to us all 💕💕💕 Also Mattel is literally seeing that these dolls are in demand and they just ain’t releasing something like anniversary dolls like the amount of money they’d make on them, silly peeps.

Man I had the nutcracker dolls and the plush penelope(we owned a pirated copy of the movie on 2 dvds lol), a bit sad to think that the toys from my childhood will get rarer and more expensive as time moves on

that’s a great idea, chaymie! and i’m definitely excited to see your barbie movie doll collection grow. as someone who’s been collecting these for a minute, my advice for you is to focus on the ones that are harder to get and tend to be more expensive on the secondary market. why? because the longer you take to get them, the more expensive they become. trust me, been there done that. this happened to a fellow collector i know, who bought his erika doll from the princess and the pauper new in box, for $200 last year. crazy, i know! but she’s now going for almost $500 on ebay. i wish you the best of luck on getting them all! ☀️

Just came here as I noticed you have yet to update us on Swan Lake, and while this tip relates to how much you are willing to spend: don’t be closed off from purchasing from overseas! I bought all three Swan Lake dolls brand new in box as well as the playset, and have bought a few older holiday dolls for super cheap compared to how much the price is when a rare listing shows up here in Australia! I'll keep in mind to expand my searches to overseas listings as well. :) I was supposed to do Swan Lake videos a few months ago to coincide with the 20th Anniversary but the Barbie live-action movie and The Little Mermaid took up most of my doll budget! 🤣 So I will start on SL next year. The haul is almost complete. I just need additional OOB Odettes to put the fashion sets on and the Kelly dolls. Good luck and congrats on your dolls too! 💖

@@ChaymieCreates completely fair enough!! Mattel has definitely given their all on new releases this year. I look forward to seeing more of your collection, you’re so fun to watch! Another tip I just remembered about that I have done for quite a few years now, is if anyone loves a bit of TLC and repair on secondhand dolls while being on a budget, I then definitely recommend! I got Clara for the 20th anniversary and she had SUPER ratty hair and a broken neck. After a bit of tedious hard work she is almost like new. I’m currently reworking Alexa from the Secret Door I got from thrifting to be more like her prototype and she’s *so* much better already! All she needed was that classical Barbie princess pastel colour palette. It’s like Weird Barbie in reverse aha 🫶

It will be A JOURNEY for sure☺️ I already have most of the movie dolls that I wanted but I started my collection 5 years ago, when they were still widely available and ebay prices weren’t ludicrous🙈 Currently I’m focusing on collecting Mattel Winx Club dolls and they are hard to find too if you don’t want to pay 100€ per doll (and it’s out of the box).

I've been seriously collecting Barbie movie dolls for a year now. Luckily I was able to get a couple of them for really good prices. I've got Annika, Rayla and Aidan NIB for 40 euro. So that's really lucky. Also got Rapunzel and Anneliese NIB for 15 euro a piece. My only thing would be wait till the prices are affordable. I set a budget of 25 euro for a NIB doll. I know it's low, but this way you won't end up destroying your wallet. It takes a lot of time, but that's one way to get them eventually. Just be patient. P.S. love Frankie with all of my heart ❤️😭

How’s your collection coming along? I got lucky this October that I won two charity eBay listings for the Rapunzel and Odette dolls. Wallet was feeling a bit more loose because it was birthday month and for charity 😄 The conversion rates were pretty sad but at least my OG Barbie wishlist is finally complete! The only kicker is I had them shipped to my cousin’s in the US so I have to fetch them sometime next year 😅

I wish there was a time machine so we could go back to when the dolls were coming out. I’m collecting some Barbie movie dolls I definitely wanna get the ones from the 2000s and ofc the ones in the 2010 era because that was my era and I actually some like Blair, and Merliah, and some other ones up until the Pink Shoes. I’m definitely taking my time and I’m also collecting Ariel dolls ofc and some other dolls too so I guess I gotta plan it out. You know I wish people weren’t selling these dolls for such high prices because tbh it is a little crazy. And you know if you think about it it’s just plastic. And I don’t say that in a bad way but I just think that there’s other things that are worth the high price. Like jewelry or something like that. I’m so glad I got Mermaidia Barbie for $50 back then but I see her on eBay for $399 and it’s just crazy to me tbh. I hope that the prices go down one day. And I hope you get all the dolls you want ;)

There were a couple Barbie movie dolls I wasn't super attached to that I gave away once I got older, but I still have a lot of the dolls I got between 2001 and 2007. What does bother me though is that I actually have all the Twelve Dancing Princess dolls EXCEPT for Ashlyn. I was obsessed with that movie, and my Mom being as sweet as she is bought the dolls for me --- but she could never find the eldest sister. Nowadays I check around every once in a while to see if she pops up anywhere, but I still can't find her. I've seen a few of the other sisters up for sale online for pretty hefty prices though.

I have one of these dolls - the rapunzel doll. You best believe she was my favourite doll as a kid! She was the one that constantly got played with. My grandma got me a prince doll and because I was obsessed with 12 dancing princesses, rapunzel turned into Genevieve and the prince into Derek. I’m now on the hunt for the real dolls and let me tell you, most of them are located in the USA and I’m in Australia so the shipping fees are through the roof. I’ll get there one day I’m sure 😊

I got Odette from Swan Lake in the box for about $93 on ebay. I want the PATP dolls but they are so expensive. All I can find is people selling them for 200 which is insane.

What i do is first go to a thrift store and find a nude movie barbie doll if u get lucky maybe theres complete and u get them for cheap if u get a nude version go on ebay buy theres pieces one by one and boom there u go a complete doll for a cheap prise if u get sooo lucky u might get one in box doll for cheap
