Definitely one of the prettiest Barbie's from the 2000's. Your point at the end about inflated value is true of a lot of collectible hobbies right now. Retro gaming is something I really care about, and prices have gotten so ridiculous for otherwise invaluable stuff thanks to flippers and resellers.

This makes me so happy to see you appreciate this doll in a video alone 💙 I used to own her when I was 4 but didn’t exactly take good care of her 😂 a really sweet friend of mine got me one for my 22nd birthday last year off eBay that was still in box and I had to take off the fermented rubber bands off too and they broke instantly and he ones in her hair got meshed in like glue in it so I had to boil wash and redo her hair 🤍

I'm glad that you were able to add her to your collection:) I collect the African American variants of the early Barbie movie dolls (along with a few of the fashion packs/gift sets), and it still surprises me the amount details and just the quality in general that these dolls embody. Unfortunately, my Odette had a misprint, so I ended up giving her away. As always, thanks for sharing!

I loved this video so much. This Odette is truly one of the loveliest Barbies every created. I think her and Clara are my top two. In Australia it is impossible to buy Barbies cheap, so I hope the bubble bursts soon and I can buy all the Barbies on my wish list. Everything you said about Star Wars was very interesting. I love that sort of toy history.

5:15 i feel like this happens because at being in a box without ventilation and attach to rubber bands, this make the dolls self destroy. While outside the box, they can have a nicer temperature in treat that can keep the dolls in perfect conditions for longer Looking at this type of dolls made in early 2000s vs now Just make me sad and angry with how much Mattel have cheap themselves. I can also confirm this with the 2000s harry potter dolls vs 2018 dolls

Gosh this unlocked a memory for me sitting in my Nan’s house watching Barbie swan lake on tape I remember loving the animal kids and her tiara was so pretty!! I think you only Barbie doll I had was the Repunzal one that had a hair growing thing I think I can still remember the TV advert for her!!! 😂

Omg I had this doll a lonnnngg time ago . I remember I got this doll when I was like five or six, and I was obsessed, I even remember the color of the wings when they lit up.the color was blue & it was so pretty. I was so mad when I let one of my close friends borrow her & never gave her back. I still want one to this day and I am 24 years old 😂😂🤷🏾‍♀️

Such a shame Mattel degraded their dolls, yes, I love the more diversity take on the dolls. But their quality isn't the same as the ones they used to produce back in the day. The denims are printed on, the screening is so pixelated, and the detailing on the accessories + clothes just don't make sense. And the excessive use of plastic is so not it. I hope they'd go back the way they are, and I also hope to see more beautifully crafted dolls from them
