what about adding a leak solution to the oil the type you use UV glasses to determine where the leak is coming from?

Yes! In some cases this is actually needed. I’ve got a link to a video down in the description I did years ago going over this. Usually though, diagnosing a valve cover gasket doesn’t require this. But there are cases.

Hello i keep having a miss fire on cylinder 1 i have a 2017 hyundai elantra here are things ive done to try fixing the shaking and miss fire : replaced all spark plugs noticed oil on spark plugs : replace exhaust manifold :replaced all 4 coil packs What am i missing

How is the compression? Are you getting fuel to the cylinders? Are the coils actually firing? Do you have any diagnostic codes?

@BarboursAutoHelp I'm getting a cylinder 1 miss fire code same code is showing after putting new plugs in and new seals on the coils , I am getting fuel to the cylinders , I could be fixing a problem and having another show up I don't know at this point

Also im not getting any blow back when I take my oil cap off I never bothered with a compression test

Yeah im having that issue naw the my alternator went out n it had oil on it n was the oil valve gasket i got 2 replaced that asap

Ballpark the cost of oaying someone to do this for me because I already replaced the gasket in my oil oan and that was a nightmare! My exhaust waas blocking my pan and the bolts were rusty

@BarboursAutoHelp it's a 2016 ford fusion with a 2.5 L I just watched a video on that specific car and I'm almost sure that's my problem. It all started with your video though so thank you

Put your hand on the freaking cover and when that loud noise stops you got loose bolts, at least that's how I figured out which ones in what area were broken and snapped. Right on the left by the left engine mount, right under my coolant reservoir and then one in the back by the O2 sensor on the 2012 Ford focus. If I put my hand on it be loud exhaust sound which I thought was exhaust, it was just a freaking manifold cover leak! Thankfully that know how to do this can order these parts cheaper and put them in ourselves right? LOL😅😅

@BarboursAutoHelp on my 2012 Ford focus, 2.0 l. In the first part of my comment my voice to text did not put in what I was saying correctly. What I was saying was I put my hand on the freaking cover and when I pushed down it all stopped, the noise the loudness etcetera. It sounds like an exhaust issue because it was so loud but it was my two bolts for the manifold cover that were loose, and one was cracked. The washer it was unattached from completely. My bad yeah that's what I was trying to say was that my manifold cover is not sealed up properly due to these bolts, I found those bolts by doing what I said. Putting my hand on the manifold cover and pressing down,, the rough noises stopped completely and it sounded brand new. I had to order a whole new manifold cover but is not that much at all
