As a novice DIYer, I can't thank you enough for your instructional video on this repair. Other than the tough to reach connection, it was really not complicated at all. Watching your video beforehand definitely helped! Prior to replacing this part on my daughter's 2014 Ford Focus, it was stall and run rough or stall immediately after getting gas. After replacing the part, I went and filled up and no stall or rough idle. Cleared the code and will wait a few days and hope that was the fix. Thanks again for guiding us DIYers!

i noticed in my setup while replacing the same part in the exact same as yours that there was an open small black hose located near the rear clip that had “Ford Motor Co. PB 130” written on it, it’s insignificant to the video but I when I noticed it, I had assumed while replacing my part that i had accidentally disconnected the black hose from something. I was panicking. However, I found this video to view and I had to look very closely but I did notice that your hose is also disconnected and exposed. That definitely gave me some relief because I thought I had removed something and lost it. We are all good now!

I think your speaking of the transmission vent line. It connects to the top of the transmission and then comes up and makes an upside down J shape. If it is the vent hose you are talking about it is not supposed to be connected to anything on the open end but it is supposed to be seated inside the top of the transmission.

Thanks for the video. This video convinced me to try to replace the part. Your demo of the snaps was the most helpful part because for the life of me I couldn't figure that out. Also your idea to remove the power cable from the air intake was actually really useful and gave me just the extra bit of room to detach the plug. I just need to wait for the error code to go away. I hope it goes away eventually without a reset.

Fantastic video that effectively outlines this process! This is such a simple repair, really anyone could do it after watching this video! You could quite literally do the entire thing with a single screwdriver, and thats only if your hands are too big to reach past the air duct (which mine are). Great video that is certainly worth the watch.

Thank you for doing a walk-through on how this is done. I try to complete has many things has someone who doesn't have much knowledge working on vehicles has possible. The only question that I have for you is. When you disconnect the end of the lines. Are you going to have any fuel come out of the line?
@BarboursAutoHelp Жыл бұрын
There shouldn't be any fuel to come out....Unless the valve is stuck wide open and has been sucking fuel from the fuel tank. This does happen but only in extreme cases. If any fuel were to be there it would be minimal.

Usually comes with the hoses on it. I don't think you can get it any other way.
@d.columbia96032 жыл бұрын
Probably a dumb question but below where you clipped the rubber peice to the bracket there is a black hose coming up just hanging out. Is that supposed to be connected to something? Or it just has a clip to keep it stationary

How do i get the check engine light to turn off now? Please help. I cant find anything on the internet how to get the check engine light off.

You use a scan tool to erase the codes. If the code comes back after this then the problem is not resolved.

@@BarboursAutoHelp will the issue be resolved after i erase the engine light? The reason is i replaced the part and my car still had idle issues. The code i have os for the check engine light
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
@@carymgc I don't know. I don't even know what code you have. Codes can be caused by several different things, the component just being one of them. So, I don't know. I do know that if you erase codes and the light comes back then you didn't fix it.

Hello, My check engine light coded P1450. The report said to replace EVAP vent control valve. Is this the same repair???
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
The part in the video is a purge valve/vapor management valve. It is not a vent valve. What report are you speaking of? Did you get a print out from a parts store? If so, there should have been several things listed as "possible" causes.
@vanceduke51962 жыл бұрын
@@BarboursAutoHelp The report was from auto zone and it says "Teplacr Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent control valve. So It's not the same repair. Ford just did a recall related to this. I wonder If they would cover this? Thanks for you help and quick response.

So why do they include a new bracket with this device. I did the same, removed the bracket and just slid the canister on the old one.

They just do. I'm not sure why. The existing metal bracket isn't going to break so I just reuse them. It's an easier swap that way.

Great detail to disconnect both ends of the hose. YOU SEEM TO FORET THE VALVE ITSELF! No images of the EVAP SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT anywhere in your video. Very disappointing.
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
Again, as mentioned in my other response to your other post, please view the vidieo at the 3:06 mark. I'm disconnecting the electrical connector to the Evap canister purge valve at that point. Again, perhaps this is not what you are looking for. But, the valve shown in the video at the 3:06 mark is the Evap canister purge valve. I've changed bucket loads of them.... I know.

What you point to here is not the EVAP VALVE solenoid. It never gets mentioned in your video. Just disconnect both hose ends and reconnect them. That is all you show. You leave us all hanging.
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
Well....The part I showed int the video is the Evap canister purge valve. If you look at the video at the 3:06 mark you will see me disconnecting the electrical connector that connects to the solenoid. I'm not sure if you where looking for another solenoid or what. There is a vent valve. But, this video is not about replacing that. Is that what you are looking for?
