I allways enjoy seeing Craig's work and especially Craig at work. The love this man has for his profession is so obvious. Amazing skills. Hope he can pass these along (haha, not saying he's old).

I’m surprised that none of the rechroming portion of the chair frame was touched upon in the video. There were probably more hours spent on preparing the frame for rechroming than the upholstery portion. Notably, the preparation for chrome consumes all the time by working out all the rusty pits in the metal by layering copper onto the frame and sanding it until all the puts are filled….many layers, redipping, of copper are needed to fix the frame before the nickel and chrome can be applied by once again dipping the chair in those chemicals. All things considered, that chair frame took eons to bring it back to life. All together, both tradesmen seemed to do a wonderful job. What a beautiful restoration 👍🙂

The squares are actually not squares, but have extensions towards the buttons. You can see the shape in the making-of film by Knoll

We have two of these chairs, one in our living room and one in our bedroom. They are quite beautiful and actually very comfortable. The only problem is our Roomba gets stuck in the hind legs all the time. Well done on the restoration!!

I had the same problem with my Robot Vacuum Cleaner. Try to put a plastic angle below the legs in the front and in the back, that should fix the problem.

I have two in the same colour in immaculate condition. I’ve noticed my ones have a bottom cushion cut at an angle to follow the curvature of the back of the chair. This doesn’t

I can’t imagine that there would be any profit left after the restoration and cost of the chair initially.

I don’t know what’s the average wage in the uk but no freaking way that would cost less to restore then buying a good example of second hand one

Amazing beautiful work. I have two of my Dad’s chair’s and they are so comfortable. Craig you do such beautiful work. Hopefully I can find someone as good as you here over the pond to restore these awesome chairs. I just checked our chairs, would the Knoll Fabric be on the inside of the cushion and not the outside as you have placed to show?

I have a love-hate relationship with art deco. I love the clean lines, I hate anything with chrome in it or leather. If I could find a set of Barcelona chairs, ottoman and sofa in as bad shape as this chair and only ended up paying about $1000, I would not restore it: I would replace the chrome with polished brass, use slightly thicker cushions with good support and upholster them with something like red suede.
