Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Spain. It is situated on the Mediterranean coast, between the neighborhood of El Born and the Olympic Village. The neighborhood was constructed during the 18th century for the residents of La Ribera who were displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella fortress.
Barceloneta is known for its sandy beach which attracts many visitors, as well as its many seafood restaurants and bars. It has a lively atmosphere, particularly during the summer months, and is popular among both tourists and locals. The neighborhood has a rich history, having been a major center for the city's fishing industry in the past.
