During half time of the Classico, the La Liga president, Javier Tebas, posted on X (twitter) articles saying how goal line technology can get calls wrong, almost defending its absence in La Liga. 2. Javier Tebas chose not to have goal line technology in La Liga citing that it is too expensive. The cost to buy the license for the technology from FIFA is 3.5 million. This is the biggest share of the expense to include this technology. 3. Recently, 18 out of 20 La Liga teams voted to reelect Javier Tebas and increase his salary from 3.36 to 5.4 million. Barcelona voted in favor and Real Madrid was one of the two teams that voted against it.

Xavi is the man for the job. If he can’t do it, under these circumstances, no one else can. If someone else comes and does it, it will be building on top of the strong base that Xavi built anyway. A new manager won’t be able to take full credit for success.

With or without Xavi, one thing is for certain at Barcelona is that they need to make some changes in the summer because you can’t go into next season with the same squad it’s just not possible. You’ll finish the season trophy less out of the title race in La Liga, they’re not in the champions league and they’re an easily beatable team. Many of their problems can’t be down to Xavi even if he at times has gotten his tactics and substitutions wrong at times, they probably need a better manager, but their problems beyond the coach. In recent years they don’t deliver when it matters the most, look at the Liverpool collapse at Anfield and the crumble against Roma, same thing against Bayern Munich when they lost to them 8-2, back to back seasons in the Europa League, couldn’t even win the Europa League typical Barca fashion, lost 4-1 to PSG at home twice in a span of 3 years and this season they’ve lost every time they’ve played against Real Madrid and if you count the Copa Del Rey semifinals last season in the 2nd leg that’s 4 losses in a row against Madrid. This is a worrying trend that they had under previous managers not just Xavi and his European record there is absolutely woeful. Barcelona are further away than ever before from getting back to being an elite European team and winning the Champions League and this Barca DNA that worked for them in the early 2000s that Xavi has been trying to implement doesn’t work with the current squad. The team as a whole need to be rejuvenated if they want to get back to competing for trophies and they can’t make any significant transfers because they don’t have money. You need to offload players in order to balance the books because you don’t want to only sign players on a free transfer or loan them out, academy players have been working for them, you don’t want to ask them to play 50+ games a season at such a young age, one of the best players on the team is a 16 year old. This team really needs to strengthen the squad big time whether it’s the attack midfield or even one of the fullback positions and whether Xavi stays or they get a new manager, they have to be backed in the transfer window and get the right players for the system. It’s not just offloading players or making significant transfers that they need to do, what’s concerning about Barcelona is the amount of injuries they’ve had particularly in the midfield. That is their biggest problem and apart from Gundogan, Pedri de Jong and Gavi have missed a chunk of the season due to injuries and it’s been a recurring problem for them all season. That’s another reason why Barcelona are a laughingstock and someone is getting fired at the end of the season and it’s not their manager. Whether how fragile the players are or their medical staff in general, Barcelona’s biggest problem is injuries and that makes them a joke of a football club. You have to really question them especially since ousmane Dembele struggled with injuries at Barcelona, yet all of a sudden why he has been fit all season since his move to PSG last summer. When a former player is saying that they don’t use any of the training facilities in the gym that’s a problem and that’s part of their injury crisis.

It's funny how quickly people turn on players. Cancelo had 2 bad games. Yes, they were very important games, but when he scored goals and had great assists, he was the hero. I think Cancelo has value to Barca, I just think he is in the wrong position. I think he would be better in the Midfield or as a Forward. He has speed, likes to have ball possession and he likes to take shots on goal. His natural instinct is not to defend so it doesn't make sense why he is there in the first place. I think he has more value to Barca than Felix. Araujo was on the hit list last game. Most of the season he was our most valuable defender.
