That's not God. That is not His Love. Jesus never slept with a woman, even though he was surrounded by them. So how could he believe that women are only for sex? It's not. This woman is so strong. She came from a place of horrible things, manipulation, and abuse, and is literally GLOWING. She really is a role model, as she shows how she did not let her past take control of her life. She rose above it, and is even helping others who have been in similar places, if not the same place that she has been. I hope that the perpetrators who committed these crimes get justice. This is so wrong and unacceptable. I hope viewers do not use this to judge Christianity and the morals it is built upon. God loves us and sees our hearts, not our bodies. He is purity and pure love. This type of sexual abuse is not at all the love that God has for us. He wants happiness for us as his children, as human beings, not as sexual beings. This woman is incredible and I hope she realizes the incredible impact she has made on so many lives. So beautiful! 💗 I hope she continues to find peace in her life.

How do you make a comment about being victorious after being abused through childhood into victim shaming? Calm down.
@vizzinia116 жыл бұрын
It literally says in the comment "not claiming victim mentality?" Of course, it's amazing that this woman overcame such trauma as she became an adult! But not everyone can do that. And no person chooses to be abused then chooses not to "get up or work or do anything!" as you put it earlier. Yes, this woman is a true survivor, years later, after "claiming a victim mentality," attempting suicide multiple times, and working through her issues. Would she not be a "true survivor" if she wasn't so positive about things? I'm genuinely curious?

Thank Jesus these people are set free, I've never been in a cult, but I was sexually abused during my childhood by an older half sibling so I understand how that affects you. It took me a long time to admit it happened and longer to progress in healing from it, and it's still a struggle I bring to God, but God truly changed my life. He put it on my heart to give Him all my feelings, my hurt, anger, shame, my weakness and Jesus gave me His strength. I gave my life to Him and he saved me : -) 2 Corinthians 2:9 "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me" and I love this saying "Only God can turn a MESS into a MESSAGE, a TEST into a TESTIMONY, a TRIAL into a TRIUMPH, a VICTIM into a VICTOR.”

A lot of people really don’t realise that the simple thought of escaping these communities is already VERY brave. They know nothing about the outside world and they’ve been told again and again that it’s horrible and that a higher force EVERYONE you know believes in and serves is going to punish you. Thinking about it is terrifying, knowing these cults operate like this is a horrible truth…

I lived there, in Brazil. I am a bit older then you. I have never talked about this to anyone except a few persons, but, I DO feel 100% alone and no one understands all the things we went through. I was born into the CoG. Attened the Mexico TTC camp, then through years in Brasil on NBiteroi, then the persecution happened and I was sent to a victor camp. I am lost. I can't seem to ever find anyone to talk to who knows. If you can talk. Please. I am here. I am alive. I survived, but I want to live.

She and many other survivors are so brave for telling their stories. Its horrible that this cult is still active and I hope people can get out and realize this isn't right. And it just hit me... River Phoenix and his family was in this cult when he was 4.... maybe his experiences there are what caused him to drink and do drugs. Its heartbreaking that he couldn't get help and had to block it out of his mind... just like many women, men, and children that are still trapped there and can't get out or don't know how to or are out and are suffering....

My question is how can such cult exist without police intervening? Those ex-members don't report it to the police or is this actually legal in Brazil?
@Heylollie3436 жыл бұрын
Dongjie Xiao it would require so much evidence. If a victim came forward, they'd have to have enough concrete evidence to build a case and even if they did, only certain members would be found guilty. So the cult would continue, and the victim would lose their home and livelihood.

I was never exposed to or even aware of these horrible things, so I contribute a lot of my best childhood memories to when I lived in communal homes with my friends and family. It's because she was born and raised in the Family which was an American cult, the members were a mixed bag of races, but normally it was an English speaking community. Every member knew or had to learn English. American was just the "culture" in every Family Home, whether you were staying in Brazil or Taiwan. Additionally the kids were homeschooled by their parents and other adult members aka "aunties"/"uncles", hence no formal education or Real cultural influence. Honestly, learning the native language wasn't as prioritized as memorizing chunks of scripture(in English). Which was F'd up. I'm really glad she's doing well considering the abuse.

It's horrible knowing that there are people out there who create these horrible abusive cults for power and control, but it's worse knowing that people follow it not knowing the wrong in it. I can't imagine how hard it is for these former cult members to come back into society, or to even follow another religion. I don't know if this is true, but it would seem to me that following a simple religion like Christianity or Buddhism would be really hard and scary to do for a former cult member.
