A few nights ago I found with joy your admirable Poe program. It was a rainy night here in Northern California and I could not help but fall asleep after the first few tales. I awoke a few hours later to loud claps of thunder and violent wind and rain as the storm broke over my house. This mingled with the horrific ending of The Tell-Tale Heart was a thrilling experience I shall never forget! Bravo, Sir Tony!

My 9th grade English teacher back in 1976 made an audio tape of himself reading The Tell Tale Heart for us to hear in class. A man ahead of his time. I never forgot it and went on to get a Bachelor's in English Lit. Plenty of Poe!

Can't wait to listen to almost all of this. That Valdemar one is the most horrific story I've ever listened to and gave me nightmares while I was half asleep listening to it once. I'm sure that's the sign of a masterpiece, but never again for me.

Elegant tales, convoluted, elaborate, sentences folding over, into each other. Vivid word- painting narration. "Read us a story, please, Tony, and please act out all the voices all the parts!" Brilliant, Tony. Thank you.

Edgar Allan Poe is one of those writers that no one really talks about because it’s just so obvious why he is so popular. An absolutely incredible poet and by far my all time favorite writer.

He did a really cosy one it would suit your reading style it was based in a lighthouse he goes there with his dog I think and a storm rages outside, can't remember the name but it's good for sleepy times

I'm so very glad that some people understand that story tellers are unique to the human condition, and don't use AI... that crap is an assault to the ear , and the literature...it's tragic that some people actually prefer it....

Poe was American...someone should try to recreate the older accent. Hint, hint. I can't do it. Until then, this one is still very nice.
@ClassicGhostАй бұрын
Is there no American on the internet who offers lots of Poe audiobooks for free ?
@TwisterTornadoАй бұрын
@ClassicGhost I said "THE OLDER ACCENT". Like, the historical accent. I don't know who I am speaking to right now, but an English-speaker should have understood my very clear comment.
