Tony, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! for doing Lovecraft justice. I’ve heard so many other narrations of Lovecraft’s work that disappointed. And some of the films…. Mercy! I don’t know why such a wonderful author isn’t presented in a better way overall. It’s so nice to hear you do this story. Your work is definitely a 10 out of 10. Omg, Lovecraft wrote this when his was 15? Wow, how do you know that? That's incredible. The ending where he says this beast used to be a man is so unexpected and left me scratching my head. He is so gifted to be able to write this well at 15. I'm impressed! Thanks for posting this comment!

This entire episode was just great. Wonderful to hear one of HPL's lesser known stories and the chat with Todd Thyberg was fascinating. I agree totally with you about books versus e-readers; I use an e-reader for everyday reading but I also collect compilations of supernatural and detective stories from the magazines that were put out by publishers such as Collins, possibly for the Christmas market at the time. The experience of reading these stories in a book from the period (early 20th century) is a delight and the wonderful old typefaces and illustrations add to the sheer pleasure of sitting down on a Winter's afternoon and losing oneself in the tales. I could never part with them.

One of my favourites by him and my favourite narrator too!! Please do more lovecraft 🙏 some of the Herbert west series would be nice since not alot of people seem to do a narration of those they mainly focus on the cthulhu / innsmouth saga

Thanks Tony. Thanks Todd. I really enjoyed the chat. Todd is from "Fargo" county, as in the Cohen brothers movie. The first scene of a fog covered, dead straight road, between, miles of void, snow covered flat lands, with a lone car traveling toward you, kinda just says North Dakota to me. Albeit a myth; the place inspired the Cohen brothers to go on and make their own unique style of films. Quirky. But, Oh! The paper! 125gsm medium grain, Waterford, (or such), pure, cotton rag paper! A delight to the senses, with the mixed scent of ink and binding glue. It makes a book a true *book*. Loveccraft is not one of my favourites; I love the concept but find the stories lack something to get my teeth into, however if it's you Tony, you make them easier to digest. Take care Tony. This story was a little sad to me. The story doesn't tell the true intentions of the pale human(oid) that approached the narrator--he may very well have been hungry and on the hunt--but I can't help but wonder if he was drawn to the first sign of another human presence in who-knows-how-long.

Tony, I’ve been listening to your podcast since 2020 on Audible. I have noticed that sadly you have added advertisements to your episodes and wanted to reach out and please ask you not to go that way cause it basically ruins the experience. I used to listen to your stories before going to bed, as a relaxation method, now it’s impossible. I am sure your listeners will find a way to support you, I myself have donated money. It’s excruciating to listen to fast paced commercials to credit cards and still enjoy the content.

I dont select the ads which is done by my podcast host. They promise me they’ll pay me for these and I hope they do. Sadly however the overwhelming majority of people (probably 99%) who listen don’t contribute anything for the work I do. It is however possible to get the stories ad free by becoming a patreon. You will get access to stories in advance that you can download and a link to my back catalogue - no ads. This might be a solution

They will pay you ofc but I do not think you’ll get new listeners, at least not on Audible. When you pay 15$ a month you won’t want any commercials in your material.
