It is very helpful to have honest videos of bareback pads . People are really trying to get their tack right for their horses. There is such a problem with bareback pads and saddles because nasty people are using it to make money and don't care about horses. They just won't be wrong and don't give things a chance. I think Bareback pads are better without stirrups or it can put the rider in sightly tipping down position at the front. You want the horse off the forehand. Treeless are good but also can tip you forward. Mine have treeless one with a slight moulder tree but if I tip forward I use a small gel pad under the withers which stops it . I would also like to try loads of saddles I love saddles but not mean nasty tight ones. 🤭Horses just need to lift their withers and the back where you sit and it needs to be stable at the back especially in canter. Some horses prefer no girth which is hard work as you do need a girth so completely bareback for them and some need a tree or there is too much movement and it upsets the horse. Old-fashioned pony pads are great for strong backs and I've galloped and jumped in them quite happily but I have done that bareback too so I don't care as long as the horse is ok with it. It does need to be suitable for the rider especially for big jumps or beginners. If you are having fun trying these things is a great break for horses and they have fun too and think you may have gone quite mad but not if you get cross with them and put loads of pressure on the horses and the manufacturers. It becomes a complete headache. There are no perfect saddles or pads. Horses with good muscle on their backs with not feel the bareback pad as the muscle protects them. Older horses or horses with muscle deterioration might mean they are not keen on bareback at all . My old horses love it and most young horses when starting out being riden I love it and I can just hop off if they need me to and it's less to carry if you do ground work first. ( which people should) 😉😊🤠👱♀️🤸♀️

id recommend using a sheepskin halfpad with a saddle pad underneath using a täckesgjord. it might slide backwards a bit, but it is the shape of the saddle so you sit better and in a more natural position :)

God what did you do when you were a child? My friends and I used to play chasey bareback around the cross country course. We had to get within a metre of each other to catch the other person. So we would gallop flat out, bareback, no pads, jumping anything in front of us etc and chase each other. It was so much fun and it meant we could sit nearly anything

I ride bareback 9,9 times out of 10, just because I'm to lazy to put on the westernsaddle. But I gain pretty good balance out of it... my technique is just relax my legs, just let them hang and take the "dumping" in my stomach and let my stomach be a "demper". If you have any tensions in your body, back our legs its just makes everything harder and uncomfortable... I ride a lipizzan and i think they are very hard to learn ride bareback, it took me years! But when I put the saddle away I manished to work how to relax in my hole body, and thats not easy! I find the dressage very more interesting now, it takes it to another level, it feels just more raw, natural and free. But take it over to the jumpingcurse thats above my head 🙈

The trick to riding big fences bareback or with a pad is in letting go of alot of control and training the horse to do the job you need... Tested and proven myself!

This bareback pad you use has girth straps next to each other. It's better to use a bareback pad with girth straps in a V shape. This is because the V shape speads the pressure of the rider better on the horse back. The girth straps next to each other give to much pressure on the spine of the horse. Just some advice! Love your vids
@valberlo90613 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't understand what V shape means, should I cross the girth straps? ( I mean putting the one closer to the horses head on the girth's buckle that's closer to the tail and vice versa)
@marleeeen83823 жыл бұрын
@@valberlo9061 No no, when a barebackpad has a V shape, the girth strap that's closer to the tail, isn't located right next to the front one. It's a bit more to the back. Google 'barefoot barebackpad', those have the girth straps located in the right position. The F.R.A. barebackpads, for instance, have them right next to each other, which puts a lot of pressure to the spine. I don't know if I explain this correctly, English isn't my first language.
