I think the sail should be completely black only. Clean and neat and powerful. I didn't find out about this section. So I searched for your KZbin and saw that there was a new one 4 days ago. I may have missed it. But then it's the first time I miss it. I'm usually the top 30 who see the episode first. I've fallen a little in love with Bering and they're going to build 60 and 80 motor catamaran which will be incredibly cool. You were so early with aluminum and now there are many who follow in this footsteps. I usually tips about checking your catamaran build. Several things you really do and choose that will become more standard thanks to you.

I wish the unsubscribe issue was that simple. I have been unsubscribed from other channels in between episodes and I did not click the subscribe button a second time. Also, I have had many comments deleted by YT in the past two weeks; no reason provided by YT even after I sent feedback about the issue. I would go with your first thought, white outer edges so you can easily see the sail edges with/against your other, black, sales. Great update! All the best!

I think there must be some technical problem with the software in KZbin for this to be happening so regularly. Unfortunately, YT may not be very open to discussion or complaints but we will need to give it a go!

Thank you for the Portofino update. I have my fingers crossed for you that your delivery date is not pushed back by what is going on in the world. I love the black diamond in the middle of the spinnacker but why not instead of white or grey let the boat color come back in the sail? Will blend nicely together then. Just a thought 🤔 . It's going to be an awesome dream cat home anyway 😍!

Hey guys! Newbie sub here. Absolute LOVE your new Portofino cat!!! She's going to be BEAUTIFUL! She's EXACTLY what I've been dreaming about for over 10 years. If you saw my sketches you would see how she ticks all the boxes for me. I mean EXACTLY! And just as beautiful are all the people designing and building her, that you've introduced us to! ❤️ All the love they put into her will make her a very special lady of the sea! As for asym colors, my humble opinion is the black diamond with gray. (Maybe the gray could be just a bit darker? And perhaps some bright accent color somewhere - green, yellow, red? Maybe color the diamond? Or the diamond outline?) And having a quick peek at some hull colors on the web that I found (only as examples), two colors "in the ballpark" that might appeal to you are metallic blues (they just happen to be Chevy automobile colors, but no matter). 1) a dark navy, like "Lakeshore Blue Metallic" or, 2) a little bit lighter, like "Northsky Blue Metallic". Just my 2 cents worth! Sorry for gabbing away! All the best! ❤️

My only suggestion is adding your two bare feet logo somewhere on the sail. I think a bold design on the sail is great for visibility and would stick to black and white for the most contrast. Doubling up, 2 panels together black or white, would increase contrast also.

Normally the darker the pigmentation of a plastic the more resistant it is to UV degredation ..though not necessarily fading. Reds and orange being the classic case.

We already have an Oxley for deep downwind sailing without the main up so this PFR will cover from 70* to 140/150…

Yes, we are going with carbon boom from Maxspar and they are making it. We are discussion the sails and where they can do a logo so may have it on the mainsail...

Love your channel but you have painted yourself into a design corner with your color choices. Spinnaker design by web page is so primitive. You are spending a fortune on this dream boat and you really need a better look. Highly recommend you hire a graphic artist to produce a complete concept for your brand. You need to open up your mind to more color/design choices and their potential.

Hi Sx, good point on the design process. The good thing about the panel designs is that it is free and can be done very easily.... Unfortunately it also gets worse because the FFR and PFR do not have symmetrical or continuous panels so they are not amenable to patterned design so we will need to have a single colour with printed / painted design on the sails.... We have got a design team to consider options for logos now.
