Hello! I know this is an old video, but wanted to let you know this helped me a lot! I don't drink alcohol myself, but many in my family does and its great gifts. I resently bought Bareksten's "Lyset" (meaning "The Light") and I haven't been able to find any reviews on it. However you video here on one of their other gins give me great confidence for this present. I don't know if it's the Darkness/Mørket you have there, which is the brother of Lyset, but I'm still very happy to hear what you had to say of the brand! So thank you!

Fabulous Gin gifted from a friend who traveled to Vancouver, BC, Canada recently. What a treasure! I am a huge fan of powerfully juniper forward gins and London dry botanicals and I have a huge love of trying so many gins! This beauty did not disappoint at all. I have made a few stiff Martinis, bracingly cold of course, and only a dash to dry Vermouth to rinse the glass and they were so delicious with this Gin! ! I often love Gin on the rocks - solid ice, well tempered, so as not to crack and dilute the Gin cocktail and this Gin is perfect for that kind of strong cocktail or Gin neat!! I'd pay more for this lovely Gin! In Canada it would probably go for $80 or so. Spectacular! I would now like to try other gins from Norway! Love your videos/reviews! Cheers! 🙂

Finally a Norwegian gin on the channel. And there are a lot of other Norwegian fins as well. As for pronunciation I suggest you start with the three first letters Bar and continue thereafter. The R in Bar is pronounced clearly.

I just got this and I also really like it! It's unique but without being strange in any way. Very well balanced, lots of nuances but nothing that stands out too much. I was hesitant first when I read about berries, those flavours can sometimes punch you in the face and overshadow everything else. Not with this one, it blends so well that some might not even realize it in the first place. It's an awesome gin, especially considering the price. Got 1l for 35€.

My recent trip to the norwegian liquor store (anything above 5% abv in norway is sold by the government ran vinmonopolet: aka wine monopoly) and i was amazed over how many norwegian small batch gins there are these days. some of which were really specific, like informing me that it was specificly chenping mandarin oranges from xihuan china they used, like I dont think most people especially in the west would know what diffrence that makes but i found it interesting how sophisticated it had gotten. At the bar I bartend at we use harahorn gin I like it alot reccomend you give it a shot.

When they recommend it and you like it neat then it would be interesting to try it as a martini

Stig Bareksten, the creator of this gin, drinks his gin with just a slice of orange and lots of ice. No tonic needed. A top notch gin without a doubt.

Bareksten is probably the best gin in my apartment right now. I can also recommend "Lyng" and "Harahorn" from Norway. Harahorn also exist as pink gin and as cask stored gin

Are there any grown adult KZbinrs acting even half their age? I'm so confused as I look for straight forward gin reviews only to encounter crappy comedy character after crappy comedy character trying to act like 15-year-old girls.
