Dude..Crazy good adventure you have going here..not sure if this is now or past episode but here goes… I am from the Gold/ Silver mining industry and really get a kick out of your mining claim operation. I saw the episode of you guys showing the nuggets mined during the season..BUT..you did not show the Gold in “scale” size to the operator dude standing next to his Gold “boulders”. I mean seriously dude..these little miners are really pulling in a tremendous amount of Gold bullion.. figure out the scale size and weight and make these scale miners the millionaires they deserve to be for all their hard work. I really respect the amount of skill you and you friends have doing this…thanks for giving us all this to enjoy…GOLD…!!!

Thank you so much Randy! What an epic comment to receive. That is a true honour. I know the boys will enjoy reading this comment, so I will pin it to the top!
@BradGryphonn3 жыл бұрын
If my barely capable mathematics brain cells are right, if the scale is 1/14, you would multiply the real Gold weight by 14 to get the scaled value? I think that Randy's idea is brilliant! A 20 gram day would scale to 280 grams for the miniature operators. You could get some faux 1/14th scale gold chains for them to hang around their necks. Full bling.
@Anson_AKB3 жыл бұрын
@@BradGryphonn doesn't 1/14 scale mean a linear scale ? (for length AND width AND height) and thus the volume and weight of objects (which is cubic) would have to be 14³ (=2744) times bigger, and 20 g scaling up to 55 kg or 100 pounds ... edit: with today's current gold prices (57351 US$/kg) this would be over 3 million US$ !!!

I am genuinely amused at how many viewers say "you should go and watch videos on KZbin on how to use a scraper".. When I literally am on KZbin all the time, and clearly have watched videos on how to use a scraper. Today, I was in a sand pit.. and this is exactly how I would use an earth mover - even as a first time operator. The door to the belly only needed to be open a bit .. depending on your cut depth. Same with dropping the belly blade. And yes, you can push the earth mover with the dozer - OR - use the ripper to pull it. The front hook is designed FOR another scraper or a dozer ripper to pull it.. its why its there.
@neyo4743 жыл бұрын
They transport just the tractor unit on the trailer the scraper is towed behind still attached to the tractor unit
@X1j53 жыл бұрын
The dozer pushes so that when the scraper reaches the end of the cut it can just drive away while the dozer reverses to push the next scraper. When doing tandem scrapers the lead scraper loads while the rear pushes it, once the lead is loaded it will pull the rear scraper. I’ve been in construction my entire life and don’t believe I have ever witnessed a dozer pull a scraper by it’s ripper. I think you had trouble because typically the work area for a scraper has been graded by a dozer first. If you think about it and scale those dips to same size as scraper in 1:1 they would be 6ft deep. No scraper is operating in those conditions. I’m genuinely not trying to be a dick, just wanted to give some feedback based on real world experience. Love the videos keep them coming! I’m looking forward to seeing more of this big CAT
@TheRealRCSparks3 жыл бұрын
I dont think your being a dick, as you say in your comment - but the hanger on the front is for the tandem scraper setup or a ripper to pull.. if the scraper does not have the hook on the front, then the dozer HAS to push it.. see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYSZZKdur7h2eaM. In tandem, the hook is for the pulling pin on the lead scraper, while the middle is actually doing the cutting

@davefontes85323 жыл бұрын
I have never seen a dozer PULL a scraper. They only push scrapers. The reason is practicality. The scraper gets into the cut, the dozer turns in behind the scraper and starts to push. When the scraper is full, he picks up the can, makes a hard turn, and goes. The hard turn is because it is easier to turn the can than to pull it straight. This way he can pick up a gear, and get some momentum. The bail is strictly use to hook the rear of another scraper. Suggestion, open the apron more. It looks like you where plowing the sand, and getting stuck. If the apron had been open more, then the cutting edge would have sliced into the sand, and loaded into the can. You only close the apron down after you start loading, so that the material in the can doesn't spill out. Practice, practice practice. Love the machines.

I love your channels and adventures. I operate most of this equipment on a daily basis at my job. As for loading the scraper, open your apron door more and adjust it as needed during loading. Your cutting edges should just be down touching whatever material you are loading. As the scraper goes forward, it will dig slightly deeper as it goes. When offloading, you can use the ejector to push it forward some before opening your apron door. That way it has pressure already in it as you open the door to dump. Also a quick note, when loading or unloading, it is best to have your rear wheels in somewhat of a level surface to begin with. If not, your scraper bowl will rock side to side just as your back wheels do and will cut or dump your load in the same pattern.

I worked for a short while with earthmoving equipment in the mid-80s. We were raising the earth wall of a tailings dam at a coal mine. There were D9L dozers ripping the borrow pits and pushing the scrapers if need be. Then the scrapers would drag that loose fill and dump it on the top of the old dam wall. I drove a 769C dump truck with a water tank in the dump bucket wetting down the fill for it to be laser leveled by graders and vibe rolled to specific compaction parameters. Great fun.

Even if it was a dozer blade, the sand was too loose to use as such. It needed a pull or a push..
@wolf167313 жыл бұрын
We normally ran the gate full open at all times and only ever used a push dozer, never pull. Gate only closed when you transported the dirt to where you wanted to put it down. Ejecting the gate would be full open and I would normally just adjust with vehicle speed or ejector speed if I had to.

Ran a buggy for some time. Fill your hopper with you gate half open and close slightly once the dirt hits the ejection wall and continue to fill with a push dozer. To put a nice even flat lift down of dirt. Always be moving forward, open gate first and enough to have a slight spill out then start slowly ejecting. Lift gate fully 1/2 way of ejection. Really cool toy and I'm hooked now on your channel. Keep this stuff coming man. HAPPY RC ING

Very cool stuff! When loading a real excavator onto a real lowboy, we never used to put the bucket on the deck of the trailer to lift the front of the machine but instead on the ground next to the trailer. Then swing the house around and lift the back end of the excavator with the bucket in tight to the tracks. That way you can extend the boom while driving the machine onto the trailer so you aren't dragging the bucket along the ground and tearing up asphalt. Great video though, keep em' coming!

If u would be open the gate on the to scraper about a quarter to half way. It to would cut and fill the belly pan a lot easier, faster and fuller. Then to lay a Good strip u raise the gate A quarter. Then pick the belly up about an inch or 2 off the ground and as u drive forward u bring the back eject gate to the front to push the dirt out of the belly as u drive. It's much easier to show then explain. That was the first machine I started operating when I was about 15yrs old. I'm 45yrs now. And Ive been operating ay trackhoe some call it an excavator for a living for the past 20+ yrs. But have touched about every peace of equipment since the scraper. It just takes Seat time. But ur a smart dude, it wont be long and u will be a professional with it. Like everything else we touch. Cool video and rigs. Keep the vids coming 👍

The front door on your scraper is called a skirts. When you scoop the dirt or sand you're going to need to open that thing up 2 to 3 in, Or you're going to have a hard time loading your dirt or sand. When you dump the dirt you need to open it all the way. Otherwise it will hold back a lot of the dirt that's supposed to be coming out that's why you get those hit-and-miss spots . Always keep the scraper moving when you are scraping or dumping dirt. I operated heavy equipment for 36 years. I used to like operating the scrapers and the bulldozers. I have operated little bit of all of it cuz you kind of had to. And yes it's going to take some practice. But keep working at it and practicing you will get it. Nice equipment you have there. 😀👍
