The complexity is not too much. Once you are able to survive to about 200 Fame Points on a Vanilla server I would say you've overcome most of the learning curve. Most of the metabolism information you never look at unless you have some complex problem and you're trying to figure it out, like you're losing Dexterity because you've been eating too much or you passed out but don't know why (probably heat exhaustion). Clicking on the Health tab will spoon feed you the information on what is currently ailing you. For me, Scum is superior because the world is more interactive. After a while you realize that TEC01 has dropped you into Eden, as long as you avoid the dangers. Top Tips: 1) After you harvest a long stick from a bush, craft a wooden spear. With a wooden spear you can keep one puppet off of you. Juggling two puppets becomes a feat. 2) Check fruit trees and household gardens for fresh produce. 3) Treat raw mushrooms the way you would in real life. 4) If you hear beeping and maniacal laughter you'll probably need a ranged weapon. 5) Sewing kits are easy to craft and can keep your bags at 100% holding all of your items. 6) Ladders and Water are DEADLY in this game. Be VERY careful with them. 7) Maintain your firearms. 8) You can sterilize rags for use as bandages by disinfecting them with alcohol. 9) Hotter areas means you won't be able to carry as much stuff. 10) Rest in a bed and log out to address your exhaustion while you're out of the game.

I played this game when it first came out, so much gas changed and watching you guys and having a bloody good laugh, I'm ready to start playing Scum again 😂

In the begining, you used to spawn on the ground in Scum, but you were ultimately right about your description of the SCUM backstory. It's basically Australia, before it became a sovereign nation, and with a lot more violence and a few robots lol. It's a prison island, everyone around you is a murderer or arsonist. This island is basically the dumping grounds for the 'worst of the worst'. Only thing I wish they would have done by now after all these years, is add more crimes to the pool, so your 'criminal record' would be different each time.

Scum.. I played this back in early access, one of my favorite survival games and one of the hardest survival games I've ever played glad to see some videos on it, might have to redownload

The game has two kinds of random loot spawns: Examine spawners, where you have to F to search through a container, and the other kind (forgot the name), where it is an item just laying out in the open. I like the combination. It's realistic. And the commenter who said Tarkov-style looting sucks. I like it. And finding all of your loot on the floor could be called Doom!-style power-ups. It's not realistic and it's gamey. Plus, the SOUND of looting tips you off to the presence of other players in the town.

@Fresh Spawns I said it before and I'll say it again. You two have collaborated with Fisk in DayZ and should do a run through of SCUM with him and Fooster. The two SCUM legends that can help turn newbs into Legends or at the very least make ya's both turn into crazy mushroom loving crazy people who take on giant mechs with nothing but a stone knife.

Theres an in game manual Follow it But main advice Eat all vegatables Cook all foods mostly meat Dont drink things with alchohol U need recipe books which u can find in bookcases And rest in beds/bedrolls when youre tired and not doing anything But if u eat right u wont have to worry about stamina/exhaustion Thats about it metabolism wise Scum isnt difficult Ppl just like to make become difficult cause they refuse to watch other scum tutorials or READ THE IN GAME MANUALS

Don't let the metabolism system spook ya. Energy (food) and Water (water... obvie) is the most important stat on that page, you can ignore the rest unless you're a health nut... just like real life.

As Scum is my favourite game , along with DayZ, It's amazing to see you guys revisit again just before 1.0 officially drops. I wish i was there to comment live so I could have dropped everything you need to know like make sure you piss and shit befor you letting it go... if unsure check your undies all your pants will be wet sometimes shoes as well= trench foot. Also Zombies/puppets can smell so if youi walk around smel;ling like pisss shit and guts, it doesn't ma6tter how stealthy you are .
