Very cool yet I didn't care for the exhaust. I would've made pipes come straight out of the hood vertically. The way you had to cut the pipes makes it look like a V6.

The animal - That would be superb. HW do produce a very nice '73 Ford Falcon XB, in both normal series, and the 'Forza' series, which has rubber tyres. I have three different ones - but I like them too much to muck about with them: and they're quite difficult to obtain here in the UK, without spending a lot of money.
@boris19327 жыл бұрын
I picked up one of the '73's and made it to look like the Interceptor. Quite a bit of work. I credit baremetalHW with getting me inspired and thank him for the tips. I am even getting into building diorama's thanks to a lot of info here on you tube. Really enjoyed this vid! I would also like to see baremetalHW do one of the interceptors or other cult movie cars.

Wow, this has to be one of the best Mad Max, AND overall custom you've posted on here. And when you gut into the front it really gave a lot of depth to the model. This is one of those where I'd love to see a not Mad Max version of this without the harpoon and all nice and showroom shiny. Great Job!

You can take the matchbox monster wheels off. They're on a small metal rod axel. Carefully pulling the wheels in opposite directions, and an ocational twist to loosen the metal rod and they'll come off. Used to customize these all the time as a kid and got really good at taking them apart.

I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now and every time you do a project like this I'm blown away. I've never customized 1/64 cars before, usually I just stick to 1/24 car kits and HO trains but I always consider giving it a shot after seeing all the work you have done. You have a great attention to detail as well as a lot of patience to be able to work with all of those tiny parts (I often get frustrated trying to apply small parts and details to my models). Again, excellent job and keep it up, I look forward to seeing your future projects.

baremetalHW - Although I build custom 1:64th monster trucks, I've never made anything from Mad Max. I use Hot Wheels Monster Jam trucks for the chassis, with the black plastic cage removed, then I cut off the engine, seat, and fuel tank, leaving only a flat-top base. It's an excellent platform to start from, plus with a little gentle twisting the wheels can be removed (by gentle I mean pulling like crazy). I only use 1950's to 1970's truck bodies, and I make them look as realistic as possible by cutting and sectioning the chassis to fit the length of each truck. I know how much effort this hobby takes, and you definately were being modest about the amount of time you spent tinkering with those little details. You did great, that harpoon is especially a gem. Thanks for the vids!

Congratulations for this project, it's great and perfect, every step you put forward is a class, I only have one suggestion, being a mad max car I would add more dirt on the big wheels, grainy dirt, as well as several parts of the car , I think that would add even more realism. It came out really well my only criticism is the fact that you used V6 Headers (exhaust) on a V8. For as much detail and authenticity as you tried to keep to based on the original. This part got overlooked. But again, great job.

they make a desert dust by Vallejo I believe. you apply a wash first then put on the dust while the wash is wet. it gives a dried mud effect and then you can use the dust around the doors then seal it in.

Superglue tends to do nasty things to finishes in my past modelmaking experience. Use Devcon instead for plastic-to-plastic bonds, and rubber cement or 5-minute epoxy for plastic-to-metal. If fit amd finish is not a concern, use Gorilla Glue for very strong bonds. Also, Fix-It Stick, available in the plumbing aisle of Lowe's, is a good putty as well.

Actually one of my mates worked building the vehicles for Fury Road and they did use a few v6's. And in the movie they might be split into 3 pipes on each side instead of 4.
@MrHW19687 жыл бұрын
Awesome work 👍😀
@seanseilheimer50117 жыл бұрын
I'm not a huge fan of the exhaust. It suggests a V6 and it seems something this awesome would have a V8 at least. Also, that location on a real vehicle would destroy any suspension travel for the front tires. The exhaust would be destroyed on any jump or obstacles that would require suspension articulation... Also, if you're gonna keep the exhaust, they should be coated in dirt/mud too as that exposed location right over the tires would cause them to catch a lot of slung material. Super awesome otherwise!
@pmm41777 жыл бұрын
Sean Seilheimer I agree bro, I would've taken the cut off one and just stacked it atop the first and second pipes, after all, it's a mad max truck, anything is acceptable. 2 rows of 4 short stacks straight through the hood would've looked pretty good too!
@low87dawg867 жыл бұрын
