You can almost hear the stages of grief imitated in music in this piece: 0:04: Shock/Denial 0:49: Pain/Guilt 1:50: Anger/Bargaining 5:20: Depression/Reflection/Loneliness 6:11: The Upward Turn 8:27: Acceptance

It helps to lift 10 lb weights fairly often. The Pathetique is a walk in the park compared to the Appassionata, especially the bass, m.s. parts. Try the adagio to begin with on both sonatas.

You don't need all that strength. This is being played way faster than originally intended by Beethoven.

I need to point out that the time signature for the allegro part is not Common time, but "alla breve" - Cut common time, which means is played at double speed. This translates that 280-300 (which I wrongly measured in 4/4) is actually 140-150 in the correct time signature.

Pathetique is translated as pathetic in English. It means sad and painful in this song. Not necessarily meaning very poor. Beethoven composed this piece when his girlfriend dumped him after helping him in his music performances together when he became deaf. He was agonized and sorrowful as an obvious result for a while. First movement emphasizes shock, second movement indicates grief and third movement express his emotional healing.

He's just my role model. I am playing this piece of music myself, but I keep thinking that nobody would be better than Barenboim on playing Beethoven :)

She is an MK Ultra drone. Her visuals are blatantly occultic with dark intentions masked as creativei intensity. She's less like art and more like a ritual. Run away from this kind of thing.

He seems like offended in the end when nobody applauded him. Then he's like "whatever... I'm playing the next song..."
@CampJ95
@CampJ95 5 жыл бұрын
Perhaps nobody applauded him because it’s a three movement sonata and this is the first and they wanted to be polite and allow for an easy transition between movements.. or maybe this was just a recording session

@MaxwellSDSU He didn't finish the whole Pathetique Sonata yet, just the first mvmt. and the audience knew, so they waited. I think you would wait too because people would think you're trying to be rude.

No, a 'piano sonata' usually has three movements, typically a fast 1st mvt in sonata-form, a slow 2nd and fast 3rd mvt. 'Sonata-form' has exposition, development and recapitulation sections. For example, mvt. 2 is in a different key, tempo and has completely unrelated themes to mvt. 1. Hope this helps!

Piece starts off at Grave (typically 20-30 bpm), so the first quarter note should be held around 2 seconds and it goes at that tempo from there. Also, Vylsith, of course tempo existed. It wasn't as much of a science as it is now, but the use of words such as allegro, largo, adagio, etc. as tempo markings originated in the 1600s.

"She was also classically trained from the age of four and is an amazing pianist." I think 'competent' is the more appropriate adjective here, if we are talking about her abilities as a pianist.
